Early Summer Co-ed Beach Volleyball at Alki Mondays

The best part about playing in the sand is that you're free to dive all you want without the worry of hurting yourself on a hardwood floor. Tonight, Alan took full advantage of that freedom and walked away with a small sandbox as a reminder. On top of his extensive diving, Alan also had many smashing hits and was a great setter for his teammates through both of his games tonight.

Coming into their first game of the evening against a well warmed up "Sets on the Beach", "Bump, Set, Yikes!" had a bit of a rough start, but they pulled through with a win in the end. Julia of BSY! killed it out there. Some of the hardest hits of the game came from her and she wasn't afraid to dive in the sand to help out her team. Like her teammates said, Julia is "like an IPA"-she's got hops.

After splitting games in their championship match, willing to try anything to turn the tables back in their favor, Air Traffic Control's Kari ran straight into the Puget Sound during the deciding 3rd game and waded up to almost waist high. Energized by the frigid waters, Kari came back and dominated the match setting up some amazing hits (and tips from teammate Scott) and led her team to a hard-fought championship.
