Defense drives defending champs to repeat

It looked like a barnburner early on. After Shawn Kemp's First Born scored three in the top of the first, Bad News Beers pushed right back with three of their own in the bottom of the frame. However, that would be all SKFB would allow, as they used a four-run fourth to pull away for a 10-3 victory, continuing 2011 where they left off in 2010, Everett champions.

Bad News Beers Win Softcore Title!

Things were not looking up for the Bad News Beers. Despite scoring 3 runs in the top of the first, the short-handed Beers gave up 4, and the early lead, in the bottom of the frame. However, a combination of team defense and self-sacrifice on offense helped them score a run in each of the next four innings while keeping their opponent scoreless. By the time Fluke Yeah broke the drought with a run in the bottom of the sixth, the damage was done, and Bad News held on for an 8-5 victory.
