Ellen H stepped to the plate in the first inning with a runner on. The defensive outfield started to move in, unaware of Ellen's talents. She made them pay immediately as she lifted a ball DEEEEEEEEEEP to left center over everyone's heads and cleared the bases for a home run. Ellen does all of this with a great smile on her face, a great Underdog story.

Mark H earns this week's Player of the week award for pitching 2 great games and driving in a ton of runs. He stepped up to the plate and knocked in 7 runs in the first game of a doubleheader, casually strolling around the bases as his ball cleared the outfielders on numerous times. He ran into a buzzsaw in the second game, but still had a great attitude about it, even after taking a mean line drive to the thigh. Mark is a great Underdog captain, and this week's Player of the Week!

Huge Double Play Just One Highlight

Slammin' Pitches had a tough assignment on Thursday; a double-header on a very warm day. Daniel came to play, however, and was more-or-less unstoppable with his Mets hat for long stretches of each game.

Though his blasts at the plate and stunning defense were laudable, one play stood out as particularly incredible. With a runner on first and none out, a ball was tapped back to Daniel's pitcher, who turned and fired a low ball ball wide of second base. Shortstop Daniel adjusted his approach to a stuttering walk, reached down to snatch the ball on a hop, shuffled his feet to contact the base, and then fired a short-armed missile to record the double play.

It was that display of athletic prowess, combined with lasers from the bat and the arm that earn Daniel player of the week!

Only one game was played tonight at Dahl Playfield, between the McNasties and Look At This F$%@ing Guy, and it was a pretty tight affair, with 3 lead changes and plenty of excitement. One man, Bryan of This Guy, really showed up to play. His own wrecking crew, Bryan blasted 2 home runs and backed them up with a double and triple, missing out on a cycle by only a single. On defense his glove reigned supreme and his hustle left no doubts.

Way to go, Mr. Player of the Week!
