Summer Softcore Kickball Downtown Mondays/Wednesdays

This past Monday at Cascade Playfield, Ime showed once again why so many on his team look up to him as a leader. Ime is always having a good time while playing, whether he is playfully encouraging his teammates to join their team practice sessions, or jokingly sitting down in the outfield between at-bats, Ime is always the life of the party. His athletic skills are also top notch, as he tracks down fly balls with ease and kicks with great velocity on a regular basis. For his all-around contribution to his team and our league, Ime is our player of the week. Congratulations!

Pitches Be Crazy played a back and forth game on Monday and really had to earn the win. Throughout the game there were great contributions on both offense and defense by all players. The greatest one came however in the last inning with the game on the line. Rookie Jeff Barr with his debut in Underdog Kickball had his chance to solidfy himself as a clutch player early in his career. Jeff had been consistent through the game getting on base early and often. The pitch came in and Jeff kicked a single that would score two runs in the bottom of the 7th to give his team the walk-off victory. This is why Jeff has earned player of th week honors.

For this week Mariana R. is the player of the week. Her team had a dominating performance on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. The one play that got Mariana this honor was a great spinning catch she made in the field. Some might call it a pirouette.

This week at Cascade, Russell was a black hole in right field. Kick balls would go in, but they wouldn't come out. And though his defense was impeccable, his offense was equally impressive. For his all-around impressive day, Russell is our POTW. Congratulations!

Always love this guy's energy. He probably has the most fun of anybody at underdog and he always brings his A game while doing so. He does however have a bad habit of showing up just before the game is about to start, which his team has no problem heckling him for it. Regardless, he get's player of the week for his good sportsmanship and always being positive with the players around him, whether they are on his team or not.

The player of the week honors will go to Jeff Rummel on Covfefeballers. Jeff was a having a great defensive game, but when he was up to kick he was launching the ball. His longest kick of the game came when he almost hit the pavement of the basketball court while in the air. Jeff contribution helped his team dominate and advance to the next round of the playoffs and continue the hunt for a championship.
