Late Summer Co-ed Kickball at Lower Woodlands Wednesdays

This week, Mike prevented a sure home run that would have put his team in dire straits. Last inning, his team up 3 runs. Mike's opponents drill a shot into right, and the kicker is rounding the bases for what looks like a sure home run. Undeterred, Mike takes a long throw, NAILING the runner at 3rd. For this play, Mike is our POTW. Congratulations!

Sean did pretty well for himself this week, having to step in as the replacement pitcher. He managed to hold a worthy opponent to just 4 runs. He also had a solid day at the plate as well, kicking several extra base hits. He was a key factor in his teams victory. He and his hot dog shirt could not be stopped. It was a delight to get to ref his game because he brings such a good willed/ care free attitude that more people should have at Underdog. Thank you so much Sean for the awesome performance and congrats on player of the week!

Trevor was an ace on the mound, pitching four shutout innings to start the game. In addition, Trevor hit an inside the park homer in a big 6 run inning for the Violent Chubbies to bring in 3 runs. Despite his accomplishments from the plate and the mound, Trevor's best play was from the edge of the infield. As a opposing baserunner was running home, Trevor launched the ball towards the plate in a last ditch attempt to prevent the run from scoring. The ball skipped off the ground and hit the player moments before he got to the plate, preserving the shutout at the time. What's more impressive is that Trevor was drafting his fantasy football team while having the game of his life! Nice job Trevor!

I gotta give props to my man Dave. He played one hell of a game out there this week. If you ask him, he'll say he was damn near perfect. But in reality, I wanted to give a special shout out to Dave's parents. Afterwards at Lenny's he told me that they have been through a lot this year, and his words touched my soul. I know it doesn't mean much Dave but it is the least that I can do. Dave's parents..... You're the real MVP's!!!
