Late Summer Co-ed Kickball at Lower Woodlands Thursdays

Erica had an amazing game this week on the mound. She pitched a 6 inning shutout game, before her reliever gave up three. She also had an awesome day at the plate going 3 for 3 and kicking in 2 critical runs. It was a great performance that earned an honorable mention this week. Great job Erica and keep on dominating on the mound.

At the back end of a doubleheader, Charlie played some of the most impressive kickball of the night. He was a defensive nightmare for his opponents, catching everything that came anywhere near centerfield. His teammates believe that he recorded half of the outs on the night. Legend has it that Charlie is still catching popouts at Lower Woodlands. In the top of the 7th, Charlie also scored the go ahead run as Balls Against Humanity took the lead with a 4 run inning. A day after his birthday, Charlie was definitely the MVP on the night!

Continuing his great season, Brad had a perfect game from the plate in Thursday's playoff matchup. He went 4-4 and constantly found the holes in the outfield to bring runners home and get himself on base. His most impressive play of the night was on the defensive side of the ball. From the mound, Brad ran to first to catch a infield popup while the bases were loaded. There, he had the presence of mind to run to third to tag out the baserunner who did not tag up from second. As that baserunner was tagged out, the runner at third left the base for home and was tagged out on a throw from Brad. Brad singlehandedly ended the inning with the rare kickball triple play. Despite all his efforts, Brad wasn't able to carry his team to victory. However, his plays on the field left an impression on both teams.
