Late Summer Co-ed Beach Volleyball at Alki Mondays

They're BSST, and they like to party. He's Nick Batoski and he had dives for days on and off the court. When Nick was on the receiving end of a ball, nothing seemed too far away to be worth saving. He made dives that kept the ball in play and his offensive plays were always strategic and well placed. Maybe it had something to do with the bat symbol on his shirt, maybe it's just skill, but this guy can fly!

How like a Seattle summer for it to be rainy and wet. And how like seattlites not to seem to care one bit. Despite the less than satisfactory playing conditions this evening, everyone came out to play. Everyone including Daryl Fonslow of NKOTB. Every time I looked over at Court 2, this guy was killing it. Whether it be brick wall blocks or powerful hits, nothing got past Daryl. Truly excellent playing!

Volleyball requires a lot of hand eye coordination. Sure, you use your feet to move around and position yourself for the ball, but it doesn't involve much fancy footwork. Esteban took the opportunity to challenge this popular belief by making an incredible foot save and scoring a point for his team. It was pretty cool! Nice work!

We're BSST, and We Like to Party had a great night! One thing that makes this team great is their communication. When they play, their talk on the court is very conversational, always letting each other know what's going on around them. On top of that, each one of them is a great individual player! Justin Swanberg took a little bit to warm up his hits, but by the second game they were golden and un-returnable. There was even an instance in which a player on the other team seemed to be in pain after trying to return one of Justin's hits. With the help of this aggressive playing style, BSST was crowned midcore chaps last night!
