POTW: Jenny Bragg
One ball salute
This week's player of the week goes to Jenny Bragg of the ALWAYS GREAT, One Ball Salute. Jenny had never played Underdog Kickball until Monday and even though she was a sub, she contributed so much to One Ball Salute and the entire game. On one play, when Jenny was playing left field, there was a pop up to her and she made the catch. Now the catch wasn't the best part....the best part was the Tiger Woods fist pump YES dance she did with her whole body. You don't get to witness such a great perfomance like that... and as TOSH.0 says, "for that, we thank you!"

POTW: Leslie Mayer
The Head Hunters
This week's player of the week goes to Leslie Mayer of the Head Hunters. Leslie caught a next to impossible fly ball in Right field that led to the 3rd and final out of the inning. If we were playing in the kingdome, this pop up would have hit the ceiling. To make this catch, Leslie settled under it, found her Zen place, played a quick game of Solitare and finally put her arms out and caught the ball like an absolute professional. If defense is the key to winning, the Head Hunters found their star. Great job, Leslie!

POP fly
Popped ball leads to tying, winning run
Everyone knows a pop fly is an easy catch to make, but this one was different. Josh Peterson kicked the ball to righfield and it sounded and looked kind of funny. The rightfielder caught it and the ball collapsed in his arms. Josh kicked it so hard that the ball popped. The runner came in to score the tying run and the next person came up and booted the winning run. Thats not all Josh did either. He also smashed a 2 run triple to take the lead early. Josh's kicks are explosive!

The Catch
Admittedly Lindsey Bratner of The Head Hunters missed a couple catches out in right field early on in the game, but she more than made up for it with "The Catch." With runners in scoring position there was a hard line drive to right center field and Lindsey in a full on run somehow was able to grab it with one hand and then cradle it with a whirling dervish spin that ended with her on her back. Both teams roared with a combination of cheers, laughter and awe after witnessing this incredible play. I still don't know how she did it, but Lindsey made "The Catch" and now she is our Player of the Week. Congrats!
Even though her team did not get the win, Melissa Buitrago of Los Burros de Moe Bar turned in one of the most impressive performances of this season. From her short stop position she made an incredible scoop catch that would have surely been a base hit against any normal defender. And on offense she was a perfect 3/3 with an impressive RBI double that she booted over the heads of the defenders. For her skillful and savvy play Melissa was an easy choice for Player of the Week honors. Congrats Melissa!

No kick to hard!
This weeks player of the week goes to Alyssa P. For her awesome play in leftfield. On a team with no strangers to kickball, Alyssa played above and beyond the rest. Alyssa came up with stellar catches her direction, anything her direction was a routine out for the phenom! Great game Alyssa, diem't have enough room to talk about your great kicks! All around great play!

Come back win for the Ages.
It looked like this game was gone be done before it even started with the Cajones jumping to a sizable lead in the first 2 innings. Not the case though, while in the 6th inning Los Burros de Moe Bar made an epic comeout. Travis had a huge part to do with that. Travis kept his team in the game with 2 triples and 5 RBI's. He also started the 6th inning comeback that had the whole team kick through the lineup. Great win Los Burros.
As everyone in Seattle knows, Ichiro can do it all. He can hit and has great defense. And Kristin must model her game after him. She had an OB% of 1.000. Everything she did seemed to go right. When the other team looked like they were in for a big rally, Kristin caught a line drive at shortstop and caught the runner off second base for the tag ending the inning and the rally. Way to play Kristin!

Not a good start but great finish
Its never a good sign when you start off the game by booting the game ball on the roof. Its not a good way to get on the ump's good side either, but that didn't matter. George put that behind him and showed that didn't have an effect on him or the game. He booted a homerun to deep right and brought in 3 runs. At catcher every woman that tried to bunt was subject to getting tagged out running to first, and George did just that. He made it hard for the other team to get runs because he wouldn't even let them get a runner on. Great job George!
A few people come to mind when I think of sweet mustaches. Burt Reynolds, Catfish Hunter, and Don Mattingly to name a few. But it wasn't about them, it was all about Jonathan Bystedt. Jonathan blasted a ball to deep right and didn't slow down till he got in the dugout. He was a one-man wrecking crew. Great job Jonathan!

Wrong team, doesn't matter
Nobody wants to be given away to the other team. But if you are, you show them why they should've picked someone else. That's exactly what Rebecca Stackhouse did. She had a great day behind the plate as catcher, kicking the ball to first for outs. But it was her kicking that showed her team. She layed down a perfect bunt right down the third baseline and over the base, and she booted the ball down the line to right field and had a stand up triple. Nice job out there Rebecca!

There's no place like home
POTW: Parker Bunbury
I'm guessing he has a sign in his house that says "Home Sweet Home" because he seemed to make it there every inning. Parker, once again, was blasting the ball to left and right. He started his day off with a 3-run homerun. Then he kicked a triple, eventually scoring. Parker also did it on defense making a bunch of catches in the outfield. Way to play out there!
This weeks player of the week goes to Martha Linhoss and her stellar defense. It's not always what you do at the plate that earns the honors, in the defense that wins games when the score is tight. Martha had left-field on lock-down in a game that ended 6 to 3, allowing no extra bases or chances of scoring with her in the field. Great job Martha!
In a close game early that looked like it was gonna come to the last inning, Tim and The Cajones played stellar defense and had timely kicks to pull away late in the game. The Loft tested Tim (in left center field) early and often. Tim was not gonna be denied. He made catch after catch, calling off his own players over and over. He also showed his power in his leg, going 2-4 with 3 RBI's and 2 runs. It was a great game. Congratulations Tim and The Cajones on another solid game.
Mike had to have a great game and leadership against a tough Cajones team. he answered in every aspect of the game. Everytime Mike came up to kick the ball he made sure to kick it to the ground which aloud him to get on base everytime he came up to the plate. Going 4-4 with the GW run in the bottom of the 7th inning. He also played lights out defense and pitcher. Getting almost all the bunters out at will. Mike showed great leadership, telling his team the outs and what they should do in precise situations. Good job Mike on a great game.
