POTW: Ian Louthan
One Kick Wonders
In the first game of a new season the One Kick Wonders were looking like mid-season form with lots of great plays. They caught, ran, scored and made lots of outs, but Ian Louthan shined a bit more brightly on their team. With the bases loaded and unused Quads in the off-season Ian stepped to the plate while his team put pressure on his performance. Ian got a good running start and held his breath while kicking a bomb deep into the field. Ian ran out of gas at third base, but the damage was done he kicked in 25% of his teams runs on that play. Great job Ian!

POTW: Jon Lunsford
Ball Related
Jon stepped on the field for his first Underdog Kickball game not knowing what to expect, little did he know he would be the star of the game. Not sure if Don't Come on My Base knew it was his first game, but they kept kicking the ball his way. Jon kept making play after play like he had been playing professional kickball. Then when it was Jon's time to kick, he showed off his leg by getting on base a couple of times to help Ball Related to their first win of the season. Way to go Jon on your first kickball game.

Spirited and Fun
Char reminded us of the goofy side of sports.
Her playful banter , high spirited play, and beaming positive energy were a very welcome addition to everyones kickball experience tonight.
Keep up the good work "Thighs"!

Rookie played like a vet
Rookie takes POTW
Haven't seen a rookie make an impact like this since Ichiro came to the Mariners. Amy Banos did a little bit of everything today. Playing catcher, she threw out a runner out after she bunted by tagging her on the foot with the ball. Then when her team needed runs, she came through with a nice kick to the shortstop that was too hot to handle and got an RBI. Amy had an all around awesome rookie debut.

POTW: Kevin Rathbone
Gettin down and dirty
By the time that Kevin Rathbone walked off the field he was completely covered in dirt--a sign of a true kickballer. Whether it was sliding into 2nd base or diving for a tough catch, Kevin was willing to sacrifice his body when the occasion called for it. I remember on one particular kick, Kevin took off around the bases and as he ran it looked like he was crop-dusting the baseline with a plume of dirt floating off his back. They say you're supposed to leave it all out on the field. Well I think Kevin challenged that motto on Tuesday by taking as much of the field with him as he could. Congrats Kevin you're the dirtiest Player of the Week!

POTW: Dave Langlee
From behind home plate all one could see was a massive gap out in center field. It almost looked like Team "The Bases May Not Be Loaded But We Are" was missing a player but in reality Dave Langlee was intentionally cheating over; daring anyone to kick it out there. Time after time the other team tried and time after time Dave used his exceptional speed and anticipation skills to track the down the catch. By the end of the game Dave had accounted for most of his teams outs and that's why he is our Player of the Week. Congrats!

Roundin' The Bases...Again....and Again....And Again.
Tygerson puts away Kick City Kickers singehandedly
A home run early in the early winnings capped by an onslaught of hits from Wes Tygerson helped boost his team past the Kick City Kickers on Tuesday night. After a slow start in the first 2 innings, Wes and Co. broke out for 7 runs and never looked back. With a final score of 12-2, it was no argument how critical his role was to the game. Nice job Wes!

Big Play After Big Play!!!!
With a lot of their team hurt or a no show, Beses May Not Be Loaded But We Are captain wasn't even sure they would be even have enough players for a game. They had 2 players play hurt but Kristen (I like to come home in the clothes that I wore last night) Phillps was all the defense they needed. Not only did she come through with some huge bunts (including one for a double) but she also had not 1 but 2 amazing catches in center field. After both catches she was so excited you would of thought she won the lottery. The whole team came together with great defense and timely kicks for a great victory. Great job Kristen. YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!

Kicking Klinic
One Kick Wonders came to put up some numbers on the score boars and that's exactly what they did. They had multiple people with homeruns and great plays. They even like to have multiple call for the ball and run into each other while trying to catch the ball. It was rather difficult to pick a player of the week but David had a MONSTER game. He had 2 homeruns, 4 runs scored and had some crazy base running that made you just shake your head. Great game David.

The Man That Does It All!!!
There is a reason the Chuck Norris Townhouse Kicks are so like a well running engine. It's Ken Moe!! Ken does it all!! He went a single away from the cycle and I lost count of how many RBIs he had after 6, but his kicking doesn't say it all. He played right center and it seemed like everything that wad kicked in the air he was running down to make the catch. He made a Willie Mays like catch in center field that even got the other team shaking their heads. Amazing effort Ken.

Tracksuits are good for cycling too
Tracksuits aren't just good for track, they are good for kickball too. They help you kick for the cycle. Just like Ken Moe did. Ken was unstoppable at the plate. Every kick seemed to find a way to get Ken on base. What made him kicking for the cycle even more difficult? Trying to not laugh at the other team who were dressed up like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Hamburglar, and bacon to name a few. Great concentration and kicking Ken!

Dave Langlee Does it All
Dave Langlee brings it to the park every week defensively. Today, he brought his all-around game. Early in the game when the score was still close, Dave made an incredible diving catch in the outfield that robbed Ball Related of a sure extra base kick. On Dave's next kick with Bases May Not Be Loaded But We Are holding a slim lead, he drove a ball in the gap in the outfield that he was able to leg out for a three run homerun. His defense and offense helped Bases May Not Be Loaded But We Are to another win and his second player of the week honors. Keep up the good play Dave!

POTW: Jenna Fields
I haven't seen many people who like the catcher position, but it helps to have someone like Jenna Fields back there. She took the other team's name, Don't Come On My Base, literally by nailing just about every bunter on their way to first. She also didn't listen to their name when she was up. She got on base a lot and her team capitalized on that, bringing her home. Nice arm Jenna!

Winning smile and jorts help move team on in playoffs
POTW: Tim Carlson
It had to be a playoff game. Both teams came to play but weren't playing around. The game went back and forth the entire game. It eventually came down to the last inning. One Kick Wonders tied the score at 6 and Ball Related came to the plate. The bases were loaded for Tim Carlson and he came through with the walk-off single just past the shortstop. Tim also held it down on the mound. He used his winning smile to distract the kicker and make a nice double play to end an inning. He also was more aerodynamic, flying around the bases in his jorts. Great job Tim!
In a game that was a lot closer then the score indicated, it wasnt until late in the game when The Chuck Norris Townhouse Kicks pulled away. With the lead hanging in the balance and bases loaded and no outs, Ken delivered a shot into deep right center field. Then he turned on the jets. Grand salami!!! Ken had a heck of a day recording 8 RBI's and catching everything that was in the air in right field. Seems like we say it every week about Ken aka The Tazmanian Devil, but he always seems to out do himself every week. Good job Taz.....
This game was a test of will and great defense. It looked like no one was going to score. It wasnt until the the top of the 6th when things started getting interesting. With Ball Related down 3-2, Grant started it off with a solid line drive to left center field followed by another line drive by Steve... Karina then moved the 2 guys up to 2nd and 3rd when Jaime broke through with solid kick to right center. Grant and Steve scored and Jaime ran in with a 2 RBI triple with only one out. Jaime eventually scored on a sacrafice fly that put Ball Related up by 3. They then held it down for the final 6 outs.. Grant and the rest of Ball Related played solid defense throughtout the game. Making unbeilevable catches and throws for the Championship Win.. Great game...
