Starting the season off hot!
This weeks player of the week goes to Lauren P. for her outstanding performance in the first game of the season. She started off in the first inning making a catch and a put out to end the first, chalking up a solo double play for her stats. She also booted the ball well going 5 for 5, and knocking in plenty of runs allowing her team to enjoy a relaxing "W"!

Where My Pitches At pulls it off!!!!
What a week 1 game is all I have to say. Where my pitches at scored early and often. I was thinking it might be a blow out from the beginning but The Indy team (Ace of First Base) made it a game with score after score in the middle innings and everytime it looked like they might take the lead Casey stopped the momentum. He made incredible inning ending outs and when it came to kicking he didn't disappoint. With a 3 run triple, and 6 RBI's. Casey defiantly helped his team to a 1-0 record. Keep up the great work and a heck of a game.....

Ichiro Plays Kickball?
Eric Epperson astounds all with incredible throw!
As unbelievable as it sounds, Eric Epperson threw a runner out from left field!!! On a single to left, the runner slowed up, thinking it was an easy base. Little did he know about the laser, Ichiro-esque arm that Epperson possessed. With a strong crow hop and throw from the outfield, Eric threw a dime to put out the runner by a step!!! With a couple of strong hits as well to aid his team, Eric's terrific performance earned him top honors.

May not have been drunk, but was always looking to score
He made it look good
His team calls him "Handsome Rob" and he made his team look good. He makes it look so good he almost made a play with his phone in his hand. Rob booted a triple to start off a rally in the 3rd inning. There was no looking back from there. In the field he made a lot of outs to help his team to victory. Way to play Rob!

POTW: Dave Mohla
Style trumps Strategy
Dave Mohla gets the nod as Player of the Week this week purely because of his style of play. Some might question the strategery of his moves, like gathering a ball in the outfield and then firmly bouncing it on the ground before throwing it into the infield, but that's just Dave's style and he rolls with it. Another maneuver of Dave's is trying to make the opposing team laugh before they catch his pop-fly kicks by shouting jokes and expletives. While his team got beat pretty bad, they still had a good time, largely because of Dave's fun attitude. Congrats Dave!

Almost had the cycle
Matt B
Offense wins games and Matt Brady had that by the boatload. He had a homerun, triple, and a bunch of singles that got him 9 RBIs. He was also a defensive wiz making a couple diving/sliding catches. Its safe to say without Matt this game would have been a lot closer.

If only the tree wasn't there...
IF only, the tree wasn't there, you could be reading about how great a play Ryan made in outfield catching a pop out into foul territory... but there the tree stands between Ryan and his great claim to fame. HOWEVER, shed no tears for this guy! He had a great game nevertheless having 5 RBI's and 3 other great plays from outfield

Late game homerun seals victory
Kirk Gibson knows the feeling. The feeling of smacking a homerun and walking off with the victory. This wasn't quite like that but close. In the top of the 7th inning Nate Brown came up with 2 runners on and his team tied. He then proceeded to blast the ball to rightfield and fly around the bases, bringing home 3 runs. Nice kicking Nate!

POTW: Stephen Pool
Stunning Defense Plays Major Role
Rousing applause and a standing ovation by both teams echoed from Cascade Playfield all night with Stephen Pool playing defense for Ace of First Base.
Starting with an incredible diving catch at 3rd base that would easily have been SportsCenter's Top 10 of the night, Stephen continued to perform at the same level all game long. Ridiculous catches in foul territory, throwing out players with pinpoint accuracy, and jaw-dropping kicks easily pushed Stephen to the honor of Player of the Week. Fantastic game Stephen, or should we say...."Hoochie Coochie? *muah*"

3 the hard way...twice
A triple is the hardest thing to achieve. It can be harder than getting a homerun. Its even harder to get two triples, but that's exactly what Jared Shields did. On two separate "at bats" Jared smashed the ball to centerfield and came in standing up to third. On defense he used great communication to make sure he and the second baseman didn't collide into each other. Jared made the catch despite slipping and falling on his back on the wet grass. Jared made his presence known on both sides of the ball. Great job Jared!

Mike "The Dangler" Mueller
While the clouds had just rolled into Seattle for the start of the game, it looked like it might be another gloomy game until Ace of Base rolled into the field energetic and ready to play. They seemed to draw off the energy of Mike "The Dangler" Mueller who was playing the game with an injury from a previous game. Ace of Base started off grabing the lead in the first and not reliquishing it for the rest of the game, leading to their first win of the season. Heal up Dangler as Ace of Base will need you in the future. Congrats Ace of Base on the first win of season.

One Man Show
Wes played the game of his life and was a stud on defense as his team pulled off a nail biter against a good team in Mikes Hard Ballers. With the Incrediballs hanging onto a 2 run lead, Wes decided to play all world in the outfield. It seemed like every ball that was kicked anywhere in left field he was under and calling off all other players to catch it. He looked like Ichiro out there and he defitnatley helped his team win this close tough game. Great defense Wes. Keep up the great work.

Sweet catch and high OB%
POTW: Amanda Krutenat
A screaming line drive straight at you is a scary sight. It can be pretty intimidating, but not for Amanda Krutenat. The ball came sailing right at her. She stood her ground and robbed the kicker of what was sure to be a triple. She also got on base several times, helping her team get a lot of runs. Nice catch out there Amanda! You made your team proud!
Drop it like its hot. It wasn't hot enough for her
POTW: Stephanie Kerchner
Snoop Dogg made the saying "Drop it like its hot" famous. Stephanie must have never heard that song because she caught it like a cold. Stephanie Kerchner was a proverbial ball magnet. Every time the ball came her way it ended up in her arms. When the kicker saw the ball going her way you could see the look on their face like they already knew they were going to be out, and they were. If there was a Golden Glove Award for kickball, Stephanie would definitely be a frontrunner. She was a beast behind the plate too; getting on base every time she was up to kick. Stephanie played like Ken Griffey, Jr used to in the Kingdome. Way to play Stephanie!
Kate was exactly what her team needed. They needed baserunners and she was just that. She was on base everytime up. She also took a little contact on first but still managed to get the out and help her team to win the championship. Good job Kate!
