Teams Join Forces To Create Juggernaut
The Empty Pitchers and the FC Slammers have combined forces creating a super team that is going to be very hard to compete with. These are two "seasoned" teams with very "seasoned" players who have been to the big show many times and know how to win it. They dropped 26 large on AMFR with ease after being tested the first couple of innings. With their pitching, their power hitting and hustle they are going to be a tall mountain to overcome. Any team looking to square off with them had better have their A game, take a hustle pill and play your butt off. If not it's going to be a very long evening for you. Great opening day win and thanks for being a fun and classy bunch.

Make Zunino Great Again!
Some people play softball with the sole intention of destroying their opponents. Others (like most Underdogers), are just out there to have fun and do all they can to ensure others are having fun. Miles L is one of those people, who went 4-4 at the plate and played some nice outfield defense....for the opposing team. Indy 20 was down a few players, so Miles volunteered to play the outfield while he wasn't hitting. As per usual when someone is playing a new position, the ball was hit to him often, leaving him with a moral dilemma: Do I catch the ball to help the team I'm playing on, or do I drop the ball to help my real team out? Miles went with the first option, even turning a nice double play- against his own team! Thanks for being a great Underdogger, Miles!

Jacey Warner
Jacey Warner
Omeros
Jacey W is this week's Player of the Week (sponsored by Amazon) for her outstanding defensive efforts in her two games. She plays a tremendous right field, catching every ball hit in her way. There was a deep drive to right, Jacey stumbled on the hill in RF while tracking the ball, fell down and somehow caught the ball while trying to stand up. It wasn't just her defense, however, as she was productive at the plate as well.

Ey Umpire!
Ey Umpire!
This week, Johnny was one of the best voices, and players, of the game. He was the first to let me know if he thought a pitch was in the zone or not - though always in a jovial manner. He was constantly encouraging his team and had fun the whole time. Not to mention, he belted a home run that went monstrously far over the fence! For his play and his fun attitude, Johnny is our player of the week. Congratulations!

Ron Peterson
Ron Peterson
My Salsa
Ron P earns this week's Player of the Week award for hitting his first career Underdog grand slam! It only took him 13 or so years, but he muscled up and knocked it out of the park, leading his team to victory. Ron was 4-5 on the day, and that "out" was a ball that Ron got a little too much power on after his team had already hit 3. Well done, Ron! And Happy Early Birthday!

Kelly Ryan
Kelly Ryan
My Salsa
Kelly had a huge night for his team when it mattered most. As the lowest remaining seed, My Salsa had an uphill battle if they wanted to end up champions. In the first game, Kelly hit the cycle and had 8 RBI. As if that wasn't enough, he also robbed a home run from Omeros. I'm sure he will haunt Omeros softball dreams for a while to come. In the finals he wasn't quite as spectacular but still put up a big game and was a huge reason My Salsa ended up winning it all.
