Weeks Leads Slumpbusters in Week 1
Cody Weeks had two key touchdown catches leading the Slumpbusters to an opening week win over the Freeballers. In a matchup of two of the leagues top teams, Weeks came up huge, scoring on a long pass play and then snaring another pass in the end zone. The early season game was likely a preview of a playoff game and this round went to the Slumpbusters. To Be Continued at a later date.

Unreal Catch Leads Regulators to Win
Vos' catch with no time remaining
Shea Vos hauled in a long TD pass with no time on the clock breaking a tie and leading the Regulators to an improbable win over Thunder Gun Express. Thunder Gun tied the game with 12 seconds remaining, but were unable to convert the PAT. After a Regulator pass fell incomplete on 1st down, on 2nd down with 8 seconds left another pass fell incomplete,. But due to a roughing the passer penalty, the Regulators were given one last chance to convert. They flooded the right side of the formation, then sent Shea Vos crossing to left, where the Regulator QB found him a step ahead of his defender, he caught the pass and was able to scamper into the end zone for the improbable score. Great Job, Shea!

Weeks Comes Up Big The Right Time
Records a sack on a 2 point conversion try
Cody Weeks came up huge, recording a sack on a Totem Alum 2 point conversion try, leading the Slumpbusters to a razor thin 35-34 win. In what was the game of the week, Totem Alum scored in the last seconds of the game to pull within 1 of the Slumpbusters. After first deciding to go for the tie, they reconsiderd and went for the 2 pointer and the win. As the Totem QB rolled to his left, Weeks was able to run him down before he could get the pass away, recording the huge sack. Cody also added a TD catch earlier in the contest. Great Job, Cody!

Has huge pass break up in final minute
Mario Jones was able to break up a potential game winning touchdown pass, leading the Dream Killers to their maiden win of the flag football season. Jones made a number of great plays during the tight game and added several flag pulls in key situations. But it was his heroics that led the Dream Killers to their big win. Great Work, Mario!

Karim is a one man wrecking crew in win
Karim Merchant passed, caught and defended for Thank You Come Again in their victory over Thunder Gun Express. Karim caught several key passes in the first half, then was switched to QB in the 2nd half and threw for 2 touchdowns. Oh yea, he also had two interceptions. Great job, Karim, you made the "customer" pay!

This past Sunday we all witnessed a team in transition fight through adversity and step up their game in the absence of a star QB. The Statdog is, of course, talking about Rob Williams' torn ACL from last weekend, and his team's response on Sunday. In an epic thrill ride of a game, SeaBurg edged out the Hymen Hunters 34-33. Matt Sledge was instrumental in making this victory a reality. Sledge caught two long touchdown passes, and accumulated about 150 receiving yards, to go along with an interception for a touchdown on defense. After the game Sledge was quoted as saying "Whatever, we don't even need Rob. I'm the man! I put the team on my back!" (Just kidding). He was actually deferential and asked not to be given Player of the Game honors, which is why he is our Player of the Week!

This past Sunday was an epic thrill ride for some times, and a devastating night for others. The first round of the playoffs was hotly contested by all teams and some waited until the final play to finish their business. In the closest game of the day, Totem Alum and We got hard in the paint staged an instant classic with We got hard in the paint coming out on top 45-44. It wasn't until the final scoring play of the game that the outcome was decided. Will Dornes made an incredible catch to put his team ahead after the crew had tied the score with an improbable touchdown.

Offense gets all the glory. But defense wins championships. De'Armon Lockett personified that notion on Sunday, by earning Player of the Game honors in both the semi final and final rounds. It was Lockett's pressure that made the difference, particularly early in the final game, as Lockett got two sacks on the first possession, putting the opposing quarterback into a frenzy for the rest of the game as No Romo won 38-12.
