Benekick Cumberpitch
I'm going to have to give this week's player of the week shout out to Mike Zaruba. The Captain of Benekick Cumberpitch. For taking an Indy team from Downtown and turning it into something great, an official team. This is what we hope for out of our Indy teams. And even though Mike ended up having a not so great first game. Being able to organize all of this and rally his team to a solid first showing, shows everyone just how awesome Mike truly is. I hope you heal up fast Mike!

Milford John-Williams
Milford John-Williams
Seahorse Mafia
After getting dumped on by a sudden downpour Sunday afternoon, Milford shook it off and came through with a huge performance. Game 1 was an offensive battle with 35 runs scored total but that was just the warm-up for his offensive display in game 2. This included a 2 run HR in the 2nd followed by, yes, another 2 run HR in the 4th--not too shabby. But his most important kick came with the game tied, bottom 6th and final inning. With runner's on base he sliced one down the RF line for a very sweet walk-off single and big victory for the Seahorse Mafia.

Kilowatt, Rubber Duckies 2

Chris Bodven
Chris Bodven
Rubber Duckies 2
Chris was an offensive dynamo on Sunday, getting on base every at bat and scoring 3 runs. His big kick was a Grand Slam HR to really get the scoring going for the Rubber Duckies. He added a 2 run double and a couple singles for 6 RKI meaning he alone accounted for 75 percent of the offensive scoring. In left field he was a catching machine with no balls getting down anywhere within his wide range and this helped keep Ball-eving off the scoreboard until the 6th inning [where they did make a nice run, but...]. Thanks for bringing it all and having fun!

Double Headers
Don't Stop Ball-eving - Indy #K18, New Kicks on the Block - Indy #K17

Matt Walker
Matt Walker
Balls Against Humanity
Matt played well on both sides of the ball with some great stretches and catches at first base to keep Ball-eving off the bases helping to hold them to 6 total runs. He also had some big kicks, going 4 for 5 with 2 singles, a double and a huge game-changing Grand Slam HR in the 3rd that got Balls Against Humanity on the board and seemed to prime their offense. Matt also took part in a key double play in the 6th that prevented runs from scoring and preserved the lead for Balls. A complete game and well earned POTW.

Steven Ernst
Steven Ernst
Johnny Tsunami & The Salami Mommies
Conditions were tricky in the outfield grass with a light rain making things very slick, but hey, that didn't prevent Steven from making plays all game long. It was shut-down time in left field as he made catch after catch, including a smokin' line drive that he tracked down with bases loaded to prevent a big inning for Ballzinga. Offensively, Steven was the difference maker early--with a 2 run homer to give Tsunami a 3rd inning 3 run lead, and late--with a game winning 7th inning 3 run home run for the comback victory after the Tsunami's fell behind in the bottom of the 6th. It was a complete and nearly mistake free performance and a well deserved POTW.
