Amy Abramski
KPG Peak Too Sooners
Amy not only brought an exemplary attitude to the field, but also her "A" game.

On two separate occasions Amy hauled in monster kicks to the outfield in clutch situations to kill her opponents rally.

Thanks for putting on a catching clinic Amy and keeping the focus on fun!

Regino Lopez
Regino Lopez
Angry Pirates
After falling behind 8 to 3 in the 3rd inning, the Angry pirates found their defense and held Just for Kicks scoreless for the final 4 innings but still trailed 8-6.

Then the bottom of the seventh--Angry Pirates down 2 runs with 2 outs--it was Arrrr time. Up to the plate stepped Regino Lopez (who had earlier been out on a called second strike) with 2 runners on base and glory within reach.

He gave the ball a kick for the ages, high and long, slicing toward the 1st base foul line and nearly being caught before bouncing fair for a 2 run game tying double. The next kick was a solid single and Reg legged out the 2 bases scoring the game winning run while the crowd went wild.

Dawn Shiroma
Dawn Shiroma
KPG Peak Too Sooners
This weeks player of the week goes to Dawn S. for her huge contributions in a 2 win night for her squad. Dawn kick the bleep out of the ball early on and ran the bases like a champ until she hurt her hamstring. Most ballers would hit the showers but Dawn pressed on for the love of the game and was a key component in the multiple win evening. Dawn camped out at first base reeling in throws and making outs all on one good limb. Dawn also never skipped her turn in the line-up and even with her slow saunter down to first she kicked well of 500% and knocked in key runs, esp the second game that went 8 innings. Dawn was the backbone of her squad on this night, and she will be taking her talents back to Hawaii where she is from to rest up and get her legs back to normal then perhaps find a league in the future where she can shine once again. Great game Dawn, your team is going to miss you!

Erika Whittaker
Erika Whittaker
Foul Balls
After her team gave up 10 runs by the third inning of the their first game, Erika was called in to pitch. That was the best move of the night. Behind Erika's stellar pitching, the Foul Balls gave up only 1 run in the next 12 innings. Even during a nail biting second game, she kept her cool and guided her team to a 2-1 victory and a double header split. Way to go Erika!

George Cook-Cantu
George Cook-Cantu
Ace of 1st Base
George really earned his nickname of "Daddy Long Legs" in both games of his teams' doubleheader victories.

He loosened up in the first game, nearly doing the splits while attempting a running catch in the outfield. After that, he moved to 1st base and was key in keeping the opposition of the bases with his super-stretch and catch strategy (it did look painful!)

Game 2 was more of the same...some nice kicks in play down the foul lines, running all over the outfield to make catches, and in the final critical inning, making superb outs with his stretch at first to snub the KPG 7th inning rally.

POTG: Kyle B had the game winning 3 RBI kick in the top of the 7th.

POTG: Nick got the final 2 (not easy) outs at the hot corner and Nora had smokin' RBI kicks

Leif Wespestad
Angry Pirates
When you have something to prove, it makes it that much sweeter when you prove all those people wrong. Leif did just that to his team. He proved he is no man-bunter. Leif not only didn't man-bunt but had the game-winning sac fly in the bottom of the 7th. He held it down on defense too. He used nothing but his fingertips to make a nice catch down the 3rd baseline. Great job Leif!

Kristina Yamashita
Kristina Yamashita
Just for Kicks
Kristina led her team in game 1 of their doubleheader with voracious play on both sides of the ball. On defense, her play at 2nd was unmatched as she caught mile high pop-ups and line drives with ease while also making key force outs. On offense she came across the plate to score three runs and had great bunts including an rbi.

She kept up the heady play in game 2 with another run and rbi and was just as awesome again on defense with several catches and put outs. She kept a smile on her face even as her team fell short of making it a sweep. Way to play Kristina!!!

Kristina Yamashita
Just for Kicks
Over the course of two games Kristina showed everyone how defense should be played. Whether it be sprinting over to second for the force out or taking command and confidently calling off her teammates on fly balls; Kristina was a fielding machine. Great work out there Kristina!

Ben Frizzell
Ben Frizzell
KPG Peak Too Sooners
Ben makes huge kicks every time and always on the first pitch. In the first game he kicked a 3 run homer and had a great catch with the bases load to end a big rally by Aces.

He continued with his monster kicks in the championship game with another 3 run homer and several runs scored. He made some great defensive plays but remembered best the one he couldn't quite make and his team fell short in the bottom of the 7th.
