Cloudburst came into the playoffs as the number 1 seed and it showed tonight. They comfortably won their first game of the night and never trailed. Pitch Please came ready to play and Cloudburst had to climb out of an early hole and they eventually took the lead with an 8 run burst in the 4th inning. Pitch Please continued to fight and eventually tied the game in the top of the 7th and then held Cloudburst scoreless in the bottom half for extra innings. With Pitch Please getting an early runner on in the top of the 8th, Cloudburst turned an inning ending 6-4-3 double play. In the bottom half Cloudburst only needed two batters to bring the championship home. The lead off batter hustled for a double to have a runner in scoring position and then Kristie Koomler stepped up to the plate and hit a rocket over the left fielder’s head for the game winning run.
