Late Summer Co-ed Beach Volleyball at Alki Mondays

This week's awesomeness award goes to John of Spike-a-Saurus VIII: Asteroid Summer. He is receiving this accolade not only being a part of a tremendously fun team with just damn near the best history of team name changes ever, but also for his sideline encouragements. Who knew a team of human beach volleyball players had Dino DNA running through their veins? I sure didn't, but now, I do. There is nothing prehistoric about this team, though now that I think about it...if this is a story they are telling, does Asteroid Summer mean this is the end for these Dinos? Only time can tell, but in the meantime, if you are at Alki on a Monday, and hear the soft and gentle cooing of John as he sings the Jurassic Park theme song to his team, you will know you've arrived at the place for beach volleyball that will take you back in time. Thanks for the goofy sideline shout outs John and co., we will hope this isn't the end!

“Killer Cait” was yelled by one of her teammates when Caitlin made an excellent play. Caitlin had excellent passes with good control. She also had some killer serves. The last point of the second game Caitlin and her teammates had an intense and successful 3 touch play to the other side, securing the win for Bumpin’ Uglies. Congrats, Caitlin! Keep up the good work.

Pablo was a menace on the court tonight. Almost every rally he would be diving for the ball, giving it 110% every time. There were some great rallies this game, and Pablo had some very cool backwards attacks over the net that added a fun twist to the game. Off the court Pablo was cheering on the rest of his team. Good work, Pablo!

Drumroll please for our Alki Monday Beach Volleyball Champs! Ian had a fantastic season and led his team to an incredible victory over the Alki-holics (pun intended). If I could nominate the whole team I would. They were fun opponents and gracious winners! Great job Setsy!
