Fall Co-ed Softball Lower Woodlands Wednesdays

Gordon is our player of the week for his craftiness on the field. Yes, the word craft was just used to describe a man who is 6'5". He knocked the ball out of the park, hit singles and threw people out on base. He was the true team player this week and this is why he is getting player of the week.

Ok, so softball can be an extremely slow sport with burst of action. Now, those who have played for long periods of time know that to pitch a shut out in softball is very difficult to do. For this Edwin gets player of the week.

There are a few honorable mentions however. Cathy Cmits and Jen Sebenik from Master Batters for multiple RBI's and runs. Will Burnside for giving Usual Suspect their first loss with a three RBI home run to put his team in the lead for good.

Ok so the 3rd cousin twice removed on his uncles' side is David Ortiz, but he showed glimpses of that famous family name. Erik stepped into the batter's box with his team losing in the bottom of the seventh and didn't know what was going to happen. After the umpire told him that his fly was open, he was ready to bat. And bat he did, he knocked in the winning run and possibly kept his team in the playoffs.

Honorable mention goes to those who aren't going to make the playoffs. It was a great season and each team was a joy for both Kemp and Shaun to umpire. Oh yeah, that's the umpires.

Kemp and Shaun would like to thank those who fouled balls straight back. Mainly Carrie Teague from the Indy team. She managed to be the only player in league history to not only hit both umpires with foul balls, but also make both bruise.
