Emily
Mustard Sluts
If playing one sport wasn't enough Emily decided to play 2 on one night! Emily came from playing flag football where she jammed her finger to tough it out and play a volleyball game right after! While her finger hurt her teamed helped her out by boosting her morale and winning the first game. But jammed fingers got the best of her team with 2 other teammates jamming fingers as well not to have Emily feel left out. While the team lost the next 2 games and Emily and her team stuck together jammed fingers and all to fight to the finish!

Block You Like A Hurricane
Anne was a lean mean power arm machine tonight. From a wicked serve to flying attacks, she showed just how much power was in her mighty arm. I'm not sure if it was Wheaties, spinach or that stuff Captain America got, but I want it, and I want it now! Keep up the good work.

Connie- Indecisive
It was a unanimous team vote for Connie as the player of the game because of her amazing hustle and beautiful sets. She set from her knees, from the middle of the court and from up in the air; and nearly every time the ball was placed right in to the hitters hand. There were a couple of times where I found myself picking up my jaw after watching the game on court 1 and it was mostly due to what I saw from Connie.

Happy Ending
Derek was a digging and diving machine tonight. So many times the ball looked like it was going to hit the floor, but Derek was there to save it and put it effectively back in play. It was amazing to watch his scrappy play and it most certainly was a big part in his teams victory.

Bump, Set, Yikes!
After playing the majority of the season with 5 players, Bump, Set, Yikes had 6 players tonight and were ready to run a 6-2 offense. One of their setters was Brian, aka Fozzy. Throughout all three games I saw Fozzy hustling like crazy and putting up some awesome sets for his teammates to crush the ball. He was also vocal to let everyone know he was getting there, a key part of being the setter. Once Fozzy made it to the front row he was a threat as always with many kills and some blocks to boot.

Shout out to Kelly, the other setter, who also had a pretty stellar game.

A Blockwork Orange
Many people would say that an underhand serve is not as effective as an overhand one, but Katy would beg to differ. Her serves were on mark and set to stun tonight. With a team of only 5 tonight everyone had to step up their game a bit to get it done. On top of killer serves Katy pulled out her scrappy side and dug balls all over the court. It was a great night for A Blockwork Orange overall.

Wolves
I am continually impressed by the three girls on the Wolves team. Amanda, Julie and Katie are tenacious and scrappy as hell. In both of the games tonight they all three were hustling to and fro to pick up everything they could. In the 5 years I have worked at SCCC no team has recovered more balls that went under the dreaded cover of the upstairs track. Amanda gets an extra little praise as the awesome setter. She places the ball so well for her hard hitting guys that all they have to do is put their hand in the air.
Don't worry boys, I'm not totally discounting your talents. While not as scrappy as the girls, they three have some pretty strong talent on their own. Shout out to Graham and his awesome slide that left even his own jaw on the floor.

Cold Turkeys
Andrew was a front row animal tonight. In their first match his swings were unstoppable and he blocked his way all across the net. The awesomeness continued into the second and championship match. Andrew was not only swinging hard, but also making smart shots which earned many points for his team. He was definitely a key player in the championship win for his team.
