Bag of Kicks, Hard on First, Coming to Second - Indy #K9, The artist formerly known as roll bounce (but with caps), Tuckless in Seattle
Will Kelly
FDRs Legs
During FDR's Legs game this week, runs were at a premium. Most of that was because of Will's amazing defense in right field. Short kicks, longs kicks even foul kicks, Will caught it. Everything and anything that was kicked his way had no chance of falling. Outstanding job Will!!

Christopher A.
Indy #K9
Chris was a defensive dynamo on Wednesday. After making a great diving catch in the outfield early in the game, he took his defensive skills to first base. A kicker from Tuckless in Green drilled a hard line drive kick right at Chris. It would strike him straight in the chest and knock him over. The ball also had so much force that he flipped as he caught it much like Charlie Brown would react to a line drive. Through all of that, he held on for the catch of the game.

Mark J.
Bag of Kicks
Mark had the decisive kick of the game. Tuckless had mounted a comeback going into the late innings and it was starting to look like they'd have a chance with 2 outs left in the 6th. Mark came up after his teammates had done the work in loading the bases and delivered a strong two run kick to the outfield to give his team the separation they needed.

Christie Pedersen
FDRs Legs
Christie showed flashes of brilliance on her inaugural trip to the mound. Looking like a wily veteran out there, she carried her team to victory with not only great pitching but solid team spirit!

Emile Santos
Tuckless in Seattle
Emile had a great day of kick ball! Not only was he ferocious at the plate sending balls to the playground, he also kept all of the stats for the game while storing the action of the game in his memory so that he can write his team's newsletter highlighting his team's play.

Keegan D.
Prancing Princesses
Keegan was so excited by her team's performance she was doing cartwheels! Literally...she was doing cartwheels in left field the whole game. Luckily for her, there weren't too many balls that made their way out to LF. Maybe next week she can work on her cartwheel form while running down the first base line.
Tuckless in Seattle forfeited to The artist formerly known as roll bounce (but with caps).

Randi McKenna
Bag of Kicks
Randi had a smile on her face and game in the field.
In right field she seemed to gobble up any fly ball that came her way. At the plate she was near unstoppable with getting on base. Great all around game Randi!

Sterling Hamilton
The Little Lebowski Urban Achievers
Sterling was amazing at the plate. No matter how deep the outfield played when he was up to kick, he still managed to boot the ball over their heads and into the play area outside of the field. If the umpire had not made some crazy ruling during the pregame chat with the captains, Sterling certainly would have ended the evening with two home runs but instead had to settle for two triples which also produced 5 RBI's.

Filling in and Kicking in
Players help out short team, and play solid game after
Bag of Kicks is our team of the week, due to their timing and play. This is first because of Will and Randy. They joined the game before on a team that was shorthanded and put in great effort and play on that team's behalf. After the first game, they had their own game to play. Jenny R led the team through this game with a spectacular unassisted double play at second, while also contributing at the plate. Jenny went 3-4 and had a 2 run triple that allowed the team to separate and win the game. Thanks for the effort, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship to Bag of Kicks! Great job this week!

Katy Brown aka Silent Q
The artist formerly known as roll bounce (but with caps)
Katy made some great plays all game long to keep her team in the game. In the end her team lost, but she won the envy of her opponents with her cheeky infield plays and top notch offense.

Geoff Eseltine rallies the team -
Bottom of the 7th - so what ...
Geoff showed what clutch is all about on a Sunny Monday night at cascade kicking a game winning 2 RBI shot into left field with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th inning to eeek out a 1 run victory. Geoff was then immediately sign by the mariners to bat/kick cleanup. Nice work Geoff.
Prancing Princesses forfeited to The Little Lebowski Urban Achievers .

It takes an outstanding performance to pull off an upset like "The Artist..." did. While it was a full team effort, Brandon stood out by far as the best player on the field. He got the game started fast with a solo home run in the first inning. Brandon also flashed some amazing defensive skills by snagging practically every flyball hit to the outfield. To top it all off, Brandon pulled off the extremely rare triple play!! Way to go!
This week's award goes to the entire 'Little Lebowski' team as they advanced to the Finals after enduring a 13 inning hard fought pitcher's duel. After a back and forth battle, the game was tied at 4's when the 7th innning ended. In what proved to be well defensed game, as both teams were held scoreless between innings 8 and 12, The Little Lebowski Urban Achievers finally broke through in the bottom of the 13th when two the first two batters got on base and reached 2nd and 3rd on a throwing error obviously due to fatigue. The next batter put an end to the game by driving a deep fly ball that ultimately allowed the winning run to score. This game was reminiscent of the multiple overtime game that Syracuse and UConn battled through a few years back. Hopefully, this team still has some fuel left in the tank for the final's match!
