DTF
Oh heyyy DTF! Congrats on winning the very first match of the season!! These guys will definitely be a team to watch out for. The combination of their impressive talent, communication and exceptional scrappy-ness will surely make them one of the top teams this fall. They definitely played like champs tonight. There were diving saves all over the place. When you though the ball was down, DTF players would be flying through the air or sliding from out of nowhere to save it. Hardly any balls touched the ground! They have a great team energy and chemistry on the court is already there. From killer float serves, one armed diving saves, kills up the wazoo, and general positivity, DTF played great and was great to watch. Keep up the good work guys!!

Lauren Berett
Lauren Berett
Shankopotamus
Get it Lauren Berett! This girl is a solid all around player. She passes, serves, and even hits like a champ! But mostly she's a bomb setter. Lauren dominated the court last night in an epic match against Sodo Kitchen. She set her team up for victory for sure! Ms. Berett set up beautiful quick set after beautiful quick set. Placing her sets in the perfect position for the rest of her team to smack down with a vengeance, Lauren set up ones in the front, ones in the back, quicks to the outside, and every once in a while threw in a few sneaky tips of her own. She even went over the top with a 10 point serving run in the third game. These hard serves and tricky floats gave Sodo a major challenge. Lauren is one of the only setters who regularly runs plays and successful quicks. She speeds up the pace of the game which takes most opposing teams by surprise. What an excellent team player! This girl is definitely a skilled setter to watch out for. Way to go Lauren!!

Philip Presnell
Philip Presnell
Schweaty Sets
Congrats Phil, this week's Player of the Week goes to you!! It was a tough match against DTF tonight Schweaty Sets put up a good fight. Phil in particular had a bunch of digs against DTFs hard attacks. He even had a few blocks and kills in the front row. And there were multiple instances when he dove flat out to save the ball with one hand!!
This guy always looks like he's having a great time. Even though the scores didn't give Shweaty Sets a win, Phil stayed in good spirits and made sure his team did as well. While he may not be the loudest guy on the court, this Bradley Cooper look-a-like is great volleyballer and has the potential to get even better as the season goes on. Way to go Phil!!

Eric
Eric
FOG
Congrats to Eric from FOG! This guy had an amazing night of volleyball today. From his sneaky free balls and tips to his diving digs, Eric was on fire. This guy is great at serve receive and digging as was evident by his fabulous returns of hard hits from Schweaty Sets'. He even hits lefty and righty! That sure makes it easy for him to hit anywhere on the court. Of course he must first decide whether he wants to hit line or cross, and then which hand to use! Always in his FOG team shirt, Eric comes to play every week and this was not exception. Way to go Eric!!

Perfect Strangers- Indy #1
Perfect Strangers- Indy #1
Congratulations to Perfect Strangers!! These guys and gals are the only Indy team in this Tuesday league and they played like champs tonight. It’s hard to believe that they actually were perfect strangers just a few weeks ago. Watching them play, you can see their drive to win and play as a team. Communication is what makes this possible, and Perfect Strangers is one of the best communicating teams! But they aren't just communication and teamwork. Each player brings their own unique style and skill to the court. Tom, while a great hitter in the front row, is surprisingly scrappy and quite skilled at defense. Seth can kill a ball from just about anywhere and his blocks are straight down! Victoria has great hard serves and impressive reaction time on defense, especially last night against Spicy MeetBall’s hits and serves. Julio has awesome defense and kills in the front, while bringing superb leadership to his teammates. Hari displays great communication and has tricky serving placement. Jennifer is a great team player with a killer underhand float serve. She even brought in a cute little four-legged mascot! And finally, Libby is just a great all-around player. She always goes all out for every ball. Libby dives all over the place and has excellent tip coverage and defense, and she isn't afraid to get a little banged up to help out her team. Way to go you Perfect Strangers!! You’re really playing like a team and should do well in the playoffs. Good luck and keep up the awesome work!!

Sodo Kitchen forfeited to Schweaty Sets.
Kit Lee
Kit Lee
Shankopotamus
Kit is definitely one of Shankopotamus' secret weapons. He hits from pretty much everywhere and blocks just about everything. Kit runs quicks, slides, and back ones, and kills just about every decent set he gets. His hits are crazy strong and his tips are very smartly-placed. If he's not blocking every hit, Kit at least gets a touch on almost every ball. He has excellent hard top spin serves, and can hold his own at serve receiving as well. When it was neck and neck at the end of the second game, Shanko was tied at 23 to FOG who was in the process of making an impressive comeback. But that comeback was put on hold when Kit smashed the ball for an awesome kill and then went back to serve an ace and put the game away. Kudos Kit! Great job tonight and way to bring your team back for the win!

Daniel Swaab
Daniel Swaab
FOG
Player of the week for this quarterfinals round is Dan from FOG! Dan has great skills at virtually every aspect of the game and demonstrated them all tonight in a sick match against Perfect Strangers. While working on his jump top spin serves, he was on point in the front row, especially at attacking and killing overfeeds. His defense was solid as per usual and, while not the team's designated setter, gave a couple of pretty impressive sets to his teammates. Dan's kills are also superb. This guy can jump high and hit hard! But above all this skill, Dan is a great team member and leader. He is always positive and encouraging for his team. That is a really great quality that Dan has had all season and it has, no doubt, contributed to the success his team has had. Way to go Dan and keep it up FOG! Good luck next week in the semifinals!!

Marc Nakamura
Marc Nakamura
DTF
Marc has been one fo the most consistent and skilled players all season. As DTF's primary setter, he beautifully sets his teammates up with virtually no spin on the ball. No wonder DTF has done so well this season. They have phenomenal players and a phenomenal setter to lead them. While setting, Marc seems to always get to the second ball no matter where it is. He dives for shanked balls that you just assume are down and even manages to get a decent set out of them. Marc played excellent today as usual in a close match against Spicy MeetBall and in the finals against Shankopotamus. DTF mixed it up tonight though. They switched off setters and had Marc hitting. It was no surprise though that he's also an amazing hitter. He does it all and with the best attitude too! Marc is a real team player and definitely one of the best we've seen here at Underdog. Awesome job Marc. We hope to see you and the rest of DTF next season!

Oh yeah and did I mention congrats on winning the CHAMPIONSHIPS tonight!! It was a win well deserved!
