POTW: Travis Milberger
Thursday Night Lights
The hopes and dreams of a small Seattle town were pinned on the arm of Travis Milberger of Thursday Night Lights on opening night. Could they go to the state championship? Would he get that bowling scholarship that was his only ticket out of small town obscurity? Well, who knows about all that. Travis DID manage to bowl games of 169 and 227, earning him POTW honors. Maybe it was that speech we gave him at halftime.

POTW: Mike Brunelle
Minds in the Gutter
Mike Brunelle may have set an Underdog BTB record Thursday night at Sunset. Besides his hair and makeup, which could only be described as "pretty", Mike bowled a game of 212 and then shocked the world (of BTB) with a 262; easily the highest recorded game in recent memory and maybe our highest ever. He had so many Turkeys, we almost ran out of prizes to give him. And with each strike, his dancing became more elaborate and, er... seductive? Congratulations to you Mike, history maker and POTW.

Finger It!! forfeited to Indy #1.
POTW: Thomas Schipper
POTW: Thomas Schipper
Indy #1
Tom Schipper of Indy#1 was determined to crush the opposition Thursday night... even if there was none. Indy #1's opponent no showed for the game, but that didn't stop Tom from putting up big numbers- a 152 in game one, and then a 202. He didn't let the pressure of not having an opponent keep him from securing the win for his team, and that's what champions do: win under any circumstances.

In a two game sweep, Brian Houck and the rest of Respect me in the mornin' were able to hold off Finger It!!, with a barrage of strikes and spares that was overwhelming to watch. Congrats to the winners.

POTW: Evan Jones
Thursday Night Lights
In a matchup of the two hottest teams going into the playoffs, we saw Thursday Night Lights take on Minds In The Gutter in a possible championship preview. In the end, it was Evan Jones and Thursday Night Lights who were determined to send the message that they ARE the team to beat this season. Evan started hot and never looked back, with a 224 in game one and a 190 to close out the night. Mines In The Gutter will have to step it up if they're going to take the title in a rematch. We'll see how it plays out...

POTW: Troy Brock
POTW: Troy Brock
Thursday Night Lights
Troy Brock may be an unlikely POTW candidate. Both his teammates Evan and Troy won it during the regular season, and with those two on his team Troy's scores often didn't make the cut, including last night. However, that's NOT what matters here. What matters is that Troy was his team's leadoff bowler, and in the the playoffs and championship when it mattered most, Troy stepped, and led the charge with his best games ever. His first two Turkeys of the whole season came in the Championship game, and while Travis and Evan still put up the big numbers, Troy was the leader last night. Besides, when you put up a 152 and you're still the third best bowler on your team, you're in pretty good shape. Congratualtions to Troy and the champs, Thursday Night Lights.
