There have been a few recurring themes in the winter BTB seasons this year. We've seen old foes face off, and returning champs squeak out semi-final wins, only to blow out their competition in the finals.
Tuesday night saw this scenario play out once more at Imperial Lanes. Returning champs 3f Ballers donned their champ shirts from last season in an attempt to intimidate their longtime rivals Gutt'r Dun. Rookie upstarts faced another group of longtime veterans The Gutter Sluts.
The action was hot from the start. The two semi-final games were decided by a combined total of 15 pins! Wongdoody tip-toed past the Sluts into the championship while The Ballers and Gutt'r Dun were locked in epic battle. It looked as if Gutt'r Dun might finally steal one from the Ballers after years of strife. Even the Ballers themselves were questioning their chances of winning, but after much deliberation the score was handed down- 3F ballers were as good as their name- they took the game by 3 pins- devastating their competition.
A broken Gutt'r Dun couldn't recover and The Gutter Sluts took third place.
Meanwhile, the Ballers were just getting started. Wongdoody gave it their all, but the ballers logged one of the highest recorded raw pinfalls in BTB history (well over 1000) in what could only be considered a "drubbing".
Congratulations to the 3F Ballers, repeat BTB champs!
