Look at My Shorts took the championship after a great game of passing, teamplay and several goals. With both Crush and Look at My Shorts playing with just four players, it was a fast-paced game with many shots at the goal. Steven Miller from the Look at My Shorts game took home Player of the Game title as he finished his first season ever playing soccer. He scored at least three of the 13 goals that put Look at My Shorts ahead of Crush with 3 goals.
Crush, who went home with second place, fought hard throughout the match, and sportsmanship never wavered even though the toll of two games and the sun came into play. Great shots were taken at goal with plenty of hussle. Teryn Peroff from Crush was awarded player of the game in the semifinals for her unwavering passing skills, moving to the ball without fail and consistent offensive and defensive strategy.
The RIPEL Rebels played hard and actually won the semifinals in a very close game of 2 to 1. However, it came to the attention of league officials that new players were added to the roster that day, which isn't allowed in Shamrock soccer. A tough break for the RIPEL Rebels, however they handled the disqualification well.
Overall, the teams played well and fairly, enjoying the beautiful, but hot, Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
