Ballcuzzis
Katie had a terrific game on both offense and defense and was key in the victory for Ballcuzzis. She kicked and bunted to get on base 3 times and scored every time. On defense, she made a great running catch in the outfield and also threw a runner out for a DP. Her fans also made a lot of noise cheering her on the whole game. Katie definitely earned her player of the week award!

Ballcuzzis
Tony T. had a complete game on both sides, but really got it kickin' on offense. He nearly completed the cycle, an unheard of kickball feat, by kicking a single, double and triple [which he could have scored on], while also scoring 4 runs for his team.
On defense, his speed allowed him to track down twisting pop-ups, while also covering bunts down 3rd and making great throw-outs to first. He really was the key to victory and had a complete game effort.

Where My Pitches At?
Justin put on quite a dominating performance this past Sunday and his team needed it all to eek out a 20-17 victory. He started his offensive deluge in the 2nd inning with a Grand Slam Homerun to centerfield. He followed that spectacle with a 3-run triple in the 5th and added a solo Homer in the 6th, for a total of 8 RBI's. He also scored 5 runs on his way to the week's--and possibly the season's--best offensive performance.

New Kicks on the Block
With her team playing super thin with only 7 players, Erica had a big job ahead of her pitching.
Like lightning in a bottle, her small frame could barely contain her energy and passion for sports, even on a chilly night.
At the plate she was deft with her touch and quick on the basepaths.
But her true grit talent shown through while pitching.
She battled countless up-the-middle kicks blasted right back at her, and even turned some of them into crafty plays. All with a smile on her face.
Erica was definitely my Player of the Week!

New Kicks on the Block
Scott S. played a very solid 3rd base and had a tremendous offensive performance Sunday, keeping the New Kicks on the Block in the game after they fell behind by 8 runs after only 2 innings. Scott led off the 3rd with a solo HR just over the head of the center fielder. He followed that in the 5th with a 2-run double, then capped his scoring with a HUGE 2-run single in the top of the 7th, giving his team their first lead of the game. Unfortunately, after holding their opponent scoreless for the previous 4 innings, the defense finally gave one up in the bottom of the 7th for the loss.

South Prop Drop
Joe had a tremendous offensive outpouring on the final regular season Sunday at Ballard playfields. He launched a kick deep and over the head of the center fielder with the bases loaded in the second for his first grand slam homer. Then came up again in the fourth, same situation--same result, a second grand slam. He added a couple more nice kicks with runners on and ended up with 10 RBI's for the game. A great way to end the season, but an even better way to start the playoffs!

Ballcuzzis
Anyone who saw Katie play this week will not be surprised to see her name here.
This young lady took Diamond Queen honors as she played lock-down, gritty defense at shortstop. From shaking off a little contact from a slide, to snaring line drives, she took it all in form.
At the plate she continued to lay down pinpoint kicks and bunts all while being agressive on the basepaths.
She led her team to an upset playoff victory!

Open Mouth Baby Kisses - Indy #K2
It had to be the power of the coat!
On a hot sunny night, Sara baffled both her teammates, her opponents, and this umpire with her ability to play flawless defense along with clutch offense while wearing a big, puffy, fur hooded coat... zipped up! In the field she dazzled us with solid catching at second base no matter if it was a hard line drive or a wonky pop up. At the plate, she continued to heat up dropping much needed kicks with runners on base. Congrats to our POTW, Sara Chesnin!
