Dan Mitchell Delivers The Goods Late
In what turned out to be a barn burner of a game on Tuesday night, St. John's prevailed in the bottom of the 7th when Dan Mitchell steps to the plate. With one on and no outs Dan steps to the plate and smashes a laser shot to center field to score the winning run. He also played short stop like he was trying out for a Major League team, all game long. Great game Dan!!!

Maddy H.
Maddy H.
Just the Tip
Maddy H. starts the season off with a extraordinary performance at the plate. Maddy sprayed shots all over the field, and helped knock in numerous runs for her teams 16 to 1 victroy. The defense could not get a read on where Maddy was going to hit the ball, and she got on base like clockwork. With Maddy's performance at the plate she earns this weeks player of the week!

Hannah Owings Olson On Fire Again
Anyone who knows Hannah knows that when she shows up to a softball field one things is going to happen for sure. She is going to bring it and she won't stop bringing it until she is told that she no longer needs to. It would take me at least an hour to explain to you the awesomeness that she displays game after game after game and its quite enjoyable to see too. One player from an opposing team told me once that it was like watching Michael Jordan play and just watching in sheer amazement. On Tuesday night she batted 4 for 5 with a triple and 3 doubles. She also played a variety of positions and played them like a boss lady. She scored 4 runs and batted in 5 to add to the resume. Aamazing game Hannah!!

Defense By Magarita Tijerino At 2B Key
On Thursday night at Queen Anne it was the Margarita Tijerino show. Playing her tail off all game long at second base, she made amazing play after amazing play and clearly inspired her team mates to get after it on offense. In some very critical situations during the game she came up with some of the biggest plays that you will see in a rec league softball game and she made it look easy. She also batted 3 for 4 with 2 singles, a double and batted in 2 runs. I submitted to ESPN a clip of the star in action and they have agreed to use it on their next installment of the Sports Center top 10 plays. Great win for Mixponians and great game Margarita!

Hitting the Lights out!
Hitting the Lights out!
Matrix Finance
After a hot day in Seattle, the sun went down and the bats started to heat up for Matrix Finance, especially Cory R. Cory had himself a big day with four hits and four RBIs. The last two RBI's were by far the most crucial as he gave his team a 3 run cushion instead of a 1 run ballgame. He also had a stellar game in the field, being a part of almost every play that was hit in his direction. Thanks in large part to Cory's work on the field, Matrix Finance would go on to win a very close ballgame.

Rolls Over Just The Tip By 12
This team is the real deal and all other teams in the league should be on notice. They are excellent in all phases of their game and their team chemistry is unmatched. They have a bunch of players who just get after it inning after inning and its hard for most teams to match their intensity. Great game and we look forward to seeing you guys in action again real soon.

Buckley's Save of the Day
Buckley's Save of the Day
Buckley's in Belltown
Never before in the HISTORY of Underdog Softball has an 11 run save been recorded...until tonight. After a strong six innings by the starter, the coach tapped his right arm and signaled for the closer, Neil W who came running in, ball cap on sideways and all. After taking just one single practice pitch, Neil shut down the side in order, leaving his team to pronounce the first 11 run save in history. A great record setting day Neil!

Just the Tip
In a 17-8 rout of Matrix Finance, Ian T hit for the cycle. Just The Tip started scoring runs early and often while Matrix scored their runs in two 4 run innings late in the games, a 5 run bottom of the fourth was the last time Tip scored. Ian T earns the player of the week for his amazing hitting and his team is riding this win's momentum into the playoffs!

Matrix Finance Reigns Supreme
Matrix Finance Reigns Supreme
Rides Todd's Golden Arm To Victory
Up until the top of the fifth inning this was a really close game on Thursday night at Lower Woodlands. Matrix Finance squared off against Marchex to see who would walk off the field with the crown. early on Marchex was putting some wood on the ball ripping off three runs three straight innings and four runs in the fourth to take a four run lead going into the fifth and holding Mixponians to nine runs. After adding two more runs and holding Mixponians to just three runs over the last three innings, the deal was sealed thanks to some superb pitching by Nate. After a rough start he settled in and from innings four through seven he and his defense gave up only two runs. He almost hit for the cycle so he was doing it big on both defense and offense. A truly heroic performance. Also a dominating performance by a very good team and congratulations to Marchex on your new league title. You all reign supreme!!
