Fall Co-ed Softball at Dahl Monday/Wednesday

In the game of the night it was the up and coming Flyswatters squaring off against new comers COJK. They battled hard for 7 innings in a really tight and well played game and it came down to the bottom of the 7th and Flyswatters needing a run to win. With the score tied 12 all, one out and one runner at first base, Akio Tama steps into the box and on the second pitch he sees he smashes a laser shot deep up the middle scoring Jason all the way from first base to score the winning run. Grant K. played an outstanding short-stop, and racked up plenty of outs with awesome plays. Grant covered lots of real-estate and made pin-point throws to 1st base closing up most of the left-side of the field. It was Grant's play at the end of the game that sealed the deal for his honors this week in a game that ended 18 to 17. Grant came up with a couple of folks on and down 1 run, hit a deep double as was able to drive in the winning runs putting a win in the books for his squad! Great game Grant!

Wednesday night's game between COJK and the Ninja Turtles saw plenty of offensive power from both sides but in the end it call came down to the bat of Chris Gravatt. He batted 4 for 5 with a deep towering home run shot to very deep right center field adding 2 doubles and a single. Chris' home run shot was hit so far that the center fielder actually gave up on the play. He also had had 5 RBIs and 3 scored runs. Great performance from Chris and great come from behind win for COJK!!

In a really close and very tight game, we saw the action see-saw back and forth all game long. It finally came down to the bottom of the 8th inning and Cullen Brain's magic at the plate to send the Flyswatters on to the championship game. With the score tied and with two on Cullen steps into the box. On a high pitch he swings and belts it off of the left center field fence for a 3 run shot. Game over, good night,drive safe and we will see you in the spring.
