One Hit Wonders has a secret that makes their team so good. Perhaps it's that they arrive early and stay after each game to talk strategy. Perhaps it's their desire to do their best and show up with an army ready to play. Perhaps it's their team name which fools their opponents! Whatever it is, this team has something special because they worked hard to get to playoffs!
They won their first game of the night winning all three matches to bring them to the Finals. They were ready and could see the light at the end of the tunnel. However, the team they were facing is a team they've played before a few times and it was looking to be another competitive game. The other team, Safe Sets, came ready to play and were looking for a victory as well. The first match was a landslide victory with One Hit Wonders taking the win 25-12. Then the second match was a huge turn around. Both teams were getting aces, both were getting kills, and it was getting real interesting. All of the sudden, One Hit Wonders buckled down and won the game with a 5 point lead! What a match!
What I love most about One Hit Wonders is their desire to play fair and fun games. They are honest when it comes to making calls that affect the score on either side of the court. This team represents Underdog and their values without a doubt and they truly worked hard for this win!

Dig Em Ltd started off the night graciously winning their Semi-Finals match up. They went 3-0 in that game and their teamwork is a model for excellent volleyball as I watched them use all three touches before spiking it for a point. They had an hour break before the Finals and they joked on the sidelines, hung out with the kids and tossed a ball around, and took some practice hits before the next match up.
Championship Game Time: Dig Em Ltd vs ACE ventura. Both teams undefeated all season long and had only played each other once before when they tied 1-1 with not enough time left for the third and final match. It was meant to be for them to play each other again in the Finals to see which team could come out on top for Underdog Champs. Match 1 goes to Dig Em Ltd, Match 2 goes to ACE ventura, Match 3.....goes to Dig Em Ltd!!! Wow, what a game!
Overall, they worked flawlessly as a team and encouraged each other to do their best every play. What I loved most is that they are respectful to each team they play against and they have a true Underdog spirit when it comes to sportsmanship. Well played, Dig Em Ltd!
