Bowling for Kicks, Green Machines, Vote 4 Pedro, Where my pitches at? - Indy #1
POTW: Steven Bounds
Bonneville Badgers
It was wet, it was rainy, so many difficult kicks to first base...still Steven took the good with the bad, and came out smiling in the end. Never getting down on himself, the team, or the ump, and finished the day with a great game overall.
Heather put on quite the display of kickball. On offense she was a juggernaut. On defense, an agile cat at first base.
Whether she was laying out for a wide throw, or just stretching to beat the runner, Heather showed veteran prowess.
Including a great stop at first to kill a late game rally and preserve the win.

POTW: Mary Short
Mooseknucklers
With the game tied 11-11 in the bottom of 7th, Mary Short was fearless in right field. The leadoff kicker kicked a would-be double (or triple?) right down the line in right field. Mary made the play of the day with her diving catch, which undoubtably perserved the tie.

POTW: Katherine Swanson
Where my pitches at? - Indy #1
It's those little things that often decide the outcome of a game. For "Where my pitches at?" it was Katherine Swanson's defense in right field. No, she didn't make any Griffey-like catches. What she did masterfully, though, was back up first base and save several overthrows from going out of bounds.
Over half of her team's runs were scored as a result of throws going out of bounds, so Katherine's "D" prevented her team from giving up free scores.

POTW: Dan Moran
Green Machines
Although the Green Machine rally fell 1 run short, they really put a lot of heart into it. Trailing by 6 runs in the bottom of the 7th, the Machines got a 1-out solo homerun. Before you knew it they had the bases loaded with 2 outs for Dan "Automatic" Moran. What did Mr. Automatic do? He cleared the bases with his might triple. He followed that by scoring his team's final run of the evening before Entercommies recorded the final out to preserve their victory.

POTW: Joe Hammill
Entercommies
In a fine defensive game that went back and forth and featured 4 shutout innings, Roger's Mom took a 4-3 lead into the bottom of the 7th. The game was on the line. Entercommies had the bases loaded with 2 outs. Joe "Cool" Hammill had a 0-1 count against him, then calming booted the ball to right field for a 2-run double. Had the second run not been the game-ender, Joe's kick would have undoubtably been a grandslam.

POTW: Kerri Gerlitz
Roger's Mom
Gerlitz came to play Monday, and helped Roger's Mom to a win in her first game of the season. She kicked two singles at key moments to keep rallies going, and picked up an RBI in the 8-5 victory. She also brought a great attitude and reminded us why kickball is so much fun.
In a tight game this week at Cascade park, Leaf Morrison helped his team advance in the playoffs with his great play. Offense and defense he played great, and is our player of the week tis week!!!
This weeks player of the week goes to Caitlin Smethurst! She was a speedy dynamo on both defense and offense. She was way to quick to get out on the bases, and utilized her speed to get people out on defense as well. She played tough as was a big reason for "Roger's Mom" success. Great Job Caitlin!!
