The Injectors

Well, it was worth the drive for the teams from Soundview/Lower Woodlands to make the trek up to Paramount Fields. In our first game of this beautiful day it was The Punishers facing The Injectors. To say these teams knew each other was an understatement as they all work at the same place. Talk about an "in house" rivalry! This game was marked by 4 lead changes and 2 points where the game was tied, including going into the last inning. That's where The Injectors made their move busting open the 12-12 tie by tacking 9 runs on and holding on for the 21-15 victory. The player of the game was Tom Hilliard with a 3-4 performance from the plate driving in 4 rbi's. No matter what pitch got thrown at him he found a way to drive in runs and kept the ball rolling and the innings going for The Injectors' big win. Congrats to The Injectors and to Tom Hilliard - Player Of The Week!!!

On a scorching hot 90 degree Sunday at Lower Woodlands/Seaview the only thing hotter than the weather was the game between the Arbornauts & Diggler's Kids! Following an inspiring pre-game pep talk by the Diggler's Kids' captain, they jumped out to a quick lead! But not to be outdone, the Arbornauts answered back to retake the lead. This game came down to the wire with a final victory by the Arbornauts, but a nod goes out to Diggler's Kids for giving the high powered Arbornauts all they could handle. In the victory no one accounted for more runs than Jason Gill of Arbornauts who had 2 homeruns! Congrats to Arbornauts for the big win and to Jason Gill, Player Of The Week!

No problem for Jill as she made the game saving catch in the pressure packed situation to preserve a 16-16 tie in the first game of the day. Kevin St. Clair was definitely the player of the week. He had a fantastic day at the plate. In the sixth inning he had a grand slam to put Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union up by one. The Geoducks came back though in the top of the seventh to tie it up, then went ahead in the top of the eighth by 3. Kevin and the Credit Union team were not to be denied though. In the bottom of the inning with 2 on and 2 out, Kevin hit a shot to center winning the game with a 3 run HR. It was a great game for both teams.

In a short day of play do to Seattle weather. Our pick for player of the week was Don Tolstedt. Don played great "D" all around, having one great web gem tagout at the plate with bases loaded to end the inning. Were he realy excelled was at the plate. Don was 3 for 4 with a grand slam and 6 RBI propelling his team to the championship. Unfortunately they were rained out in tha championship game. Lets hope he can keep that bat hot with the layoff.
