Summer Co-ed Beach Volleyball at Golden Gardens Wednesdays

Service and return service are some of the most important aspects of beach volleyball and there was one player who stood out on Wednesday at Golden Gardens. Tracy Turner is the Player of the Week for her rock solid service along with some tremendous returns, particularly in a 3-0 victory over C-Dub. Her strong play was the reason they were able to pull out an easy victory.

Brian "Big Dog" Iverson was the man for Over One Million Served on Wednesday night. Brian played above the net and used his tremendous spiking ability to offset any and all attempts to match his athleticism. It was all of his amazing spikes that made the difference in an important 2-1 victory over C-Dub.

So, Lil' Tippers got the memo that there were going to be "sponsors" at the courts today. Among the top names were Cliff Bars and some motor oil. In any event, Lil' Tippers hadn't eaten that day and during their battle against We Signed Up For Dodgeball, they realized that for each serve Molly McClenahan got in they would receive Cliff Bars. Well, that did it. She got serve after serve in. Soon it was called the Cliff Bar serve because it seemed that was her only motivation for her greatness. After the Lil' Tippers won all three games, they had to appoint the POG and the votes were unanimous: Molly McClenahan for her Cliff Bar Serve.

Eric is truly a well-polished all-around player. Although his team was defeated in the championship round, he was consistently there to make big plays & great saves. Eric played scrappy defense and kept several well-driven shots by the opposing team in play. He took big swings on good sets for a kill & maximized his attempts when the set wasn't quite there by placing the ball in strategic spots. Hands down, the hardest working player out there on the sand, Eric left no ball untouched & left it all on the court! Great plays & great job, Eric!!
