Pitches Be Trippin' - Indy #S6

Win 15 - 5 |

With great pitching all day long from Mark (and a few timely hits) and a game clinching HR from Ellen Pitch Slap cruised to a championship on an overcast Sunday at Greenlake to take the cake. After squeaking by in the Semi's 12-10 it was smoother sailing against a spirited Indy team, as the bats woke up in the later innings once the championship was in reach. We hope the wait was worth the prize, nice work Pitch Slap!
For six innings on Sunday, Pitch Slap maintained their slight lead over Pitches Be Trippin' before closing out the game with a six-run 7th inning that put the game away. For any pitcher, tight games can be nerve-wracking. When a backup pitcher is on the mound, the pressure is even more intense. Yet, Shawn M from Pitch Slap stepped up and fulfilled his duties, keeping his team in the game and in the lead with stellar pitching. One opponent, though, got the best of him.
Nate from Pitches Be Trippin' did his best to keep his team in the game, going 5-for-5 at the plate with two very long HRs and plating several RBIs, all to Shawn's chagrin. His defense was just as outstanding, as he not only battled the sun all day long in left-center, but he also completed a double-play with a catch and then throwing a laser to third to nab a player trying to tag up from second. Note to future opponents: don't test the arm of Nate.
