Entering the night as the three seed, Where My Pitches At had an uphill climb as they had to face off with the top two seeds in the playoff bracket. To make matters worse, they lost to both teams in the regular season by a combined 28-4. To say they were a real underdog would be an understatement.
In the semi-final, they took out Your Mom with an impressive late-inning rally that gave them enough of a cushion to hold on for the 9-8 victory. One would think they would be tired and worn out for the championship game, but Where My Pitches At dug deep and found some extra energy to take out the previously undefeated squad, Making Kickball Great Again, 6-4.
What an incredible season for this rookie squad; who we are sure to hear from in future. Congrats to the Champions!!
During Where My Pitches At's championship run, Allan was the steady defensive hand his team needed. His 'sticky' hands at first base let nothing by as he stretched and reached for every out. He also snagged pop up after pop up and pretty much locked down the right half of the field. Congrats to Allan and all his teammates on an exciting championship night!
Ahh, what could have been. Story of many lives, huh? Well, for Taylor H, what could have been were not 1, but 2 triple plays. Both times on a popup, the catch was made, ball was thrown to Taylor, who stepped on 2nd base twice, but couldn't quite get it together to throw it to first either time before the runner could get back. Taylor also knocked in 4 runs on the offensive side, so it wasn't all bad. Congrats!
