Game of Overthrows opened the championship game just as they had the previous few- posting multiple runs on many hits. After plating four runs in the first inning, they had the tough task of holding It's Lit back from a possible offensive showdown. They showed that they weren't out of it in the fifth by coming within two, but after that it was all Overthrows (or lack of). Their stellar defense then coasted them to the finish to take the crown.
George is the player of the week for Lower Woodlands as he led Game of Overthrows to the championship victory. A triple away from the cycle, George showed up and showed down with powerful swings and impressive fielding. His homerun helped lift his team to almost twenty runs, three of which he scored. Congrats, George!
On Friday night, Game of Overthrows finally put it all together, found the ON switches on the bats and all holy hell broke loose. From start to finish they simply dominated the Ballard Elks, scoring an average of 4 runs per inning every inning making a statement that they are still alive and dangerous for any playoff time. Their record doesn't really indicate their prowess as a team and when you match up with them you will see what i mean. Their scrappy on defense, their bats can get hot at any time and their pitching is absolutely stellar. Other teams beware, don't take this team lightly. Your A game will be required.
