When you play as one unit it's hard to loose. Down two scores early Single Dads held it together and continued to play their game, eventually getting things all tied with 20 pts each and 10 min on the clock. With the score tied their defense went to work forcing and interception and two turnover-on-downs, wile their offense continued to move the ball downfield making acrobatic catches in the back of the endzone, and showing good hands by recovering possession after tips. A great win for a great group of guys, congratulations Single Dads!
When a championship on the line there is no better achievement than stopping the opponents offense, but better than that is returning an interception more than halfway downfield to set your team up for an easy score. This is just what Mikey Smith did. With the score close and the opponents knocking on the endzone Mikey took on back to inside the numbers, making the best play of the night in a high pressure situation. Congratulations on player of the week, and enjoy the Championship Single Dads!
Scott P earns this week's Player of the Week award for throwing 5 TD's in the closest Men's game of the night. He was slinging it all over the field, amassing a near perfect QBR.
Mikey S earns this week's Player of the Week award for reeling in 4 TD's in the closest men's game of the night, a 39-38 victory over Boolin. All night Mikey could not be contained, running long streaks for scores and catching slants and running the entire length of the field for another.
