After cruising to the top seed in the regular season, the Single Dads went into the playoffs determined to prove that they earned that position as the best team in the league. In the championship game the Denver Donuts gave them a true test, but in the end the Single Dads came out victorous 37-36, solidifying their place as the rightful champions. After getting a two-possession lead early in the game, they never relinquished the lead, even after the Denver Donuts pulled within one point on three separate occasions. In the end they were able to ice the game getting a key first down so they could run out the clock.
It was a banner night for the Single Dads as they edged the Denver Donuts 37-36. Mike Smith led the way for the victors as he had a huge interception that made the difference in a razor close game.
Brennan Miller was on double duty in his team's doubleheader victory on Tuesday night. Brandon had a pick-6 in both games, along with two touchdown passes and three touchdown receptions, leading his team to a pair of victories
In Underdog Football, most often it is the players on offense who stand out. With so many teams airing it out, running no-huddle offenses, it's no surprise that it's usually a quarterback or a receiver getting weekly honors. But not this week. Brennan Miller led the Single Dad's to a 36-21 victory and it was his defense that was the reason. Brennan was everywhere on Tuesday night, and his opponent had to account for where he was on the field on every play. But that didn't stop Miller from snagging the game Winning interception!
