What a game! Boolin knew that they had their work cut out for them against and extremely talented Unabated to the QB team, but they were able to hang on and claim another Underdog championship. From the very first snap everyone knew this was going to be a back and forth game where one mistake was going to be the difference. That one mistake came a few minutes into the second half. After Boolin had to punt on the first series in the second half, Unabated's QB made an ill-advised throw which Craig H read perfectly and picked it off and easily scored on the play. After that play, Unabated played from behind the rest of the game making a last ditch effort with under 2 minutes to go. Boolin scored to take an 11 point lead with about 1:45 to go. On their first play of the next drive Unabated scored a long TD to pull within 5. All they needed was one stop to get a chance, but Boolin was calm and methodically drove down the field and ran out the clock to hold on for a 31 to 26 victory in our championship game!
Craig H gets our final player of the week of the season for his clutch defensive effort in the championship game. In a back and forth contest between two extremely talented teams, Craig stepped up in a big way at the beginning of the second half. After his team was forced to punt, Craig bated the QB into an ill-advised throw, stepped in front of the receiver and took it to the house for a pick six. Without the pick six, the outcome could have been very different as Boolin held on for a 5 point victory. Nice work Craig!!!
To say Taylor Dean was key to his team's 7 point victory against Unabated to the QB would be an understatement. On the first play of the game Taylor caught a long TD, not a bad way to start and that was just the beginning. Over the course of the game Taylor had one more TD catch and two interceptions. The second interception was the biggest play of the game. Holding onto a 7 point lead with under a minute to go and their opponent driving, Taylor came up with a HUGE pick to ice the game for his team. Nice work Taylor!
