Watching Squirrels play tonight was great fun! Incredible vollies and some amazing saves. Alex's endurance and net play definitely were major factors to Squirrels' round one victory. During the second match up of the night, Squirrels hit a wall... well 2 human walls. Alex never gave up! Despite dropping the first two games - Alex was diving, jumping, and running in the third. Playing to the very end is the Underdog way!
Jonna of Squirrels wowed the court this week with her quickness to the ball and perfect setting abilities that gave her team the edge they needed to bring home the victory. Jonna demonstrated upbeat energy and teamwork all night, and her solid setting performance allowed the hitters on her team to get kill after kill. For her hard work and dedication to her team, Jonna is our player of the week. Congratulations!
Headfirst diving slides, one-armed super hero saves - the [flying] Squirrels gave all out effort last night. When they weren't putting up an impressive block, they were driving the ball over the net with confidence. Athletic feats aside, the Squirrels celebrated their teammates AND their opponents'! Keep up the laughter and the effort!
