The Responsible Kidz won a thriller on Thursday night, fending off the Pluckers by a score of 21-20 to earn their 3rd victory of the season. The Kidz had a wiz in the field, Deedee D., who flashed some leather on the diamond by getting a key out late in the game with a laser throw to her third basemen for a tag out to stop the runner from advancing. Deedee also got a couple of nice hits, scoring 2 runs and driving in a critical run in what ended up being a 1-run victory for her team.
Jonathan K. is our player of the week for his outstanding pitching on Thursday night. After going 6 strong innings, Jonathan came back out for the 7th to get the final 3 outs and seal the deal for his club. His team, Responsible Kidz, had been leading all night, but after a 5-run 5th inning by their opponent, they were nursing a 3-run lead heading into the final frame. Jonathan kept his cool and fired a shutout 7th to preserve the 15-12 victory and earn POW honors.
