For years now, Green has been one of the most consistent and solid teams in Underdog Sports Leagues. From sure handed receivers like Brian Lentz, to do-it-all contributors like Jen Norman, this squad has continued to continued to stay in contention season after season, with a few championships to show for it. This past Sunday, they wrote another championship chapter with a 29-20 victory over Sloop in the final game. Lentz was his usual sure handed self, but it was Norman who truly stood out, by making huge plays on both sides of the ball. Congratulations to the winners!
When championships are on the line, clutch players step up and deliver. Jen Norman defined the term "Championship Effort" with her performance on Sunday. Jen led the way in a very solid defensive effort by Green by sacking the quarterback twice on key plays, and also snatching an interception for good measure. On offense, Norman had the play of the game with a diving touchdown reception. When you add it all up, her contributions were pivotal in a 29-20 victory for Green and yet another championship.
There were two very strong candidates for Player of the Week for the opening round of playoffs. When the Statdog saw Travis Wong take back two interceptions for touchdowns, it seemed like a lock. However, Brian Lenz upstaged Travis later on by returning three interceptions for touchdowns in the same game! And he scored two of them within 30 seconds of each other. Both players have a lot to be proud of, and congrats to all of the teams that advanced!
