The undefeated regular season was one thing, to win in the playoffs is another. Scared Hittless was pushed in both the semi-final game and the Championship game but came out on top in both.
Playing the catcher position is never a fun job, but it needs to get done. Sandy played catcher for the doubleheader and made several key plays. She had two foul catches for outs and one play at the plate for an out. Clearly she was in her groove behind the dish. Sandy didn't hold back in the hitting department either. She had several key hits in the championship game and somne key at-bats in the semi-finals ending her day going 5-7 with 3 walks. Great games Sandy and congrats on the win!!
In the most competitive game of the day, where the scoring was as back & forth as the weather on this cloudy, no wait..sunny, I mean windy, okay now rainy day it was Scared Hitless taking on Eye Candy. This was Eye Candy's second game of a double-header & in this game their bats woke up with a vengence. But Scared Hitless was up to the challenge! This game saw 9 lead changes!!! Yes, 9! Every time Eye Candy would get a lead Scared Hitless would answer back with a lead of their own. Going into their final at bat it was Harold Keanini stepping to the plate, and with two teammates on base he crushes a deeeeep no-doubt-about-it 3 run shot that probably landed on I-405 in Bellevue! Good thing it was closed for the weekend! After putting their defense on lockdown for the final 3 outs to preserve the win it was Harold's 3 run homer & his triple earlier in the game that provided the difference in this 23-19 see-saw victory! Congrats to Scared Hitless & to Harold Keanini Player of The Week!
Neil had his childhood dream come true. Coming up in the last inning 2 outs and bases loaded. Team down by two. 2-2 pitch and theres a drive, way back, it could be, it is... a grand slam. Walk off home run. The fans are going nuts. Neil did exactly that. To go along with his dream situation Neil went 3 for 3 on the day and played some great defense. Great job Neil!!
