So you like softball? Ditto. What about playoffs? Hey, me too! Do you like one-run games? Agreed. Last thing, do you like walkoff home runs? I KNOW! We have so much in common, are you seeing any-? Wait, where was I going with this? Oh yeah!
So anyway, in our title tilt both offenses explode out of the gate for 19 runs in the first three frames, and it's 10-9. Karate Explosion put up six in the 5th inning, and Beer Batters responded with six of their own in the 6th. So on to the 7th we go, with Karate Explosion up 16-15. They couldn't tack on any insurance in the top of the inning, so they needed to hold the Beer Batters down in the bottom of the 7th. Up steps Ben Brawner with a runner on, and a chance to be a hero. And a hero he would become. He knocked a two run walkoff homer, giving the Batters a hard-fought title.
Congratulations to all the teams for a great day of hard fought fair and fun competition!
