It was a great day for great softball at Greenlake on Sunday, and our teams did their part by playing great ball all day long.
In the end, Who's Buying lost a few key players to mysterious forces of 'promised the wife I'd be home for dinner' and just didn't have the manpower to keep up with the Beer Batters. To their unending credit, they played hard and they played well but the Beer Batters relentless attack proved to be too much.
They say that a coward dies a thousand deaths, while a brave man dies only once. They say, "Fame, I'm gonna live forever!" I say Alanna Hildebrand was the best damn softball player at Greenlake on Sunday.
Sure there were others with gaudier stats, but nobody could match Alanna's heart, determination, enthusiasm, and all-around bad-assery. Alanna, you stole our hearts and our league championship - don't ever change!
