Wow!!!!!!!! This game had everything. Both teams were intense from the game beginning to the end. Cajones kicked first and jumped all over the Manhandlers. It seemed everything was going right for the top seed. Even bunts that started way foul came back in play to fair. Tim Dahl had fantastic game, with timely kicks that seemed to bring in 2 runs every time he came up to kick. With the Cajones coasting to a sizeable lead, the Manhandlers weren't coming home without a fight. They had a enormous come back in the 6th inning to keep it close. It wasn't enough though because Sean Kollenkark had other plans. He made the final out of the Manhandlers epic come back not to mention a 3 run homerun to put it away. There was also great sportsmanship shown by both teams. Congrats both teams for a great year and a game we wont soon forget.
What can I say? Sean pulled no stop in the championship game and was not gonna let his team down. He played superb defense all game long and hustled when his team needed it. With a big lead already, Sean kicked a 3 run homerun to seal the win. Without that things might have been a little different. He also stopped the momentum of the Manhandlers, by making the final out of great come back. Great game Sean, and great performance.
Ichiro better watch his back because there was a better right fielder at the University Playground on Wednesday. I'm pretty sure if there was a wall she would have scaled it and came down with the catch. Alyssa made an amazing over-the-shoulder catch and had some nice kicks that helped her team produce a lot of runs. What made it even better is she had a beautiful smile the whole time. There is a new candidate for a gold glove in right field and her name is Alyssa. Great job out there!
Matt played ARodesque at 3rd base. The sun was out and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Matt shined just as much as the sun. There was a ball that was kicked like a line drive between 2nd and 3rd, Matt had no problem making a running catch for the out. In the next inning he made another amazing over the head catch for the 3rd out. Way to go Matt.
This one actually goes out to Jeff and Amanda, for the spectacular dual defensive plays in outfield and short stop positions. Perfect harmony on the kickball field can only mean perfect harmony in marriage... congrats and many happy years.
