Spring Softcore Kickball at Lower Woodlands Tuesdays

In the soft-core championship both teams played with very solid defenses not allowing many runs. Everyone on both teams had their positions on lock-down, making it difficult for runners to make it home. With the final score ending 6 to 4, Angry Pirates were able to find a few more gaps in the field, and got a couple more precious runs accross the plate. Sloshball at Heart played excellent as well, but came up just a bit short as the Pirates made a few more plays and walked with the champ shirts! Great game to both teams, and great seasons!

This weeks player of the week goes to Dale N. for his game ending out. With a 2 run lead, Dale helped kill a rally, and help his team get the championship victory with 1 great throw. While his opponent was mounting a rally to get the 2 runs they were down, Dale made a excellent game ending play. With a runner motoring for 3rd base Dale fired the ball from his left-field position and hit the runner for the 3rd out and the win. Great game Dale!

First games can be tough. You don't know any of the rules and it can feel like you just can't do anything right. That wasn't the case for Natalie Enholm. She took to it like a duck to water. She couldn't be put out at first kicking 1.000. In the field she was kickball magnet making a lot of nice catches at shortstop. If she gets any better, she'll be going pro in no time. Great job Natalie!
