Playoffs:
So they meet again...ryunam strapped up in superhero gear with something to prove against Pin Pals. Last season Pin Pals and ryunam went head to head in the playoffs and underdog Pin Pals ended up taking home the championship. This game was a fight to the finish. Wan lead ryunam into the first game with a x///xx combo and it looked like ryunam had the edge but they didn’t know the powers that Pin Pals had: Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Heart! With their powers combined they were Captain Planet! And also they were excellent bowlers. These two teams were within 10 pins the entire game until the 9th frame when ryunam had 6 strikes in 7 frames and took the lead. It wasn’t until the calculators were pulled out that we found out ryunam had advanced to the finals with a team score of 590 and a chance to take the title.
Multiple Scorgasms came flying in as a gang of Spidermen into Imperial and it was clear this was going to be a battle royal. Team Sven marked up the board with Patrick and Laura leading the team. But the rambunctious and high flying Multiple Scorgasms held a team average of 134 and an overall score of 589 to beat Team Sven for a shot at the championship title against ryunam.
Battle for Third Place:
Pin Pals were not going to give up this season without a fight, especially after being last season’s champs. The board was riddled with marked frames and Team Sven answered each of their advances with their own smooth stroke. By the 8th frame Pin Pals seemed to be in the lead but it was still anyone’s game. Then Jake stepped up and nailed 5 strikes in a row for a team winning total of 604 and Pin Pals took home the third place title!
Championship Face Off:
This match up was a must see before the game even started. Multiple Scorgasms won the last match with a 589 and ryunam with a 590 and their match up earlier in the season ended with team scores over 650! The first three frames only saw a few marks from either team but by frame four everyone stepped their game up and ryunam was up 270 to 267. But then Multiple Scorgasms put it into high gear and blew past ryunam nailing strikes, spares, and turkeys sounding their turkey call all the while. With an all-time team high of 674 Multiple Scorgasms won the Championship for the first time in this team’s long history. WOOHOO!! Congrats Multiple Scorgasms!! And thank you to everyone for such an awesome league! Special congrats to Pin Pals for bringing the spirit every week and winning the title of most spirited. And Happy First Birthday to ryunam’s special mascot Maxton :)
Multiple Scoregasms cheers filled the alley as usual but they weren't doing as well as last weeks 600+ team scores they posted. But the enthusiasm kept on, Jake finished up the first game with only an 89 and things weren't looking so great for Multiple Scoregasms. But Jake came into the second game with a great run of spare, strike, spare, strike, spare, strike and closed it out with another strike for a 162. By far the most improved and bringing their team points against Pin Pals to move them closer to the Championships. Congrats Jake on player of the week!!!
