After years of perpetually dwelling at the middle or bottom of USL standings, Yo Mama has finally won their 1st ever USL championship. After making some offseason changes, including a change in leadership from Dwight Battle to Kalon Jelen, Yo Mama finally put it all together. After jumping out to an early lead against Two Ball Guarantee, Yo Mama barely held on against a late charge and came out winning by 6. In the championship game, Jason Griffiths took over with 2 TD's and 2 INT's, the last one sealing the vicotry. Previous to this, the highest Yo Mama finish had been 4th place in the Fall of 2004. So is Yo Mama the USL version of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? After years of mediocrity under such coaches as Sam Wyche, they switched to Jon Gruden and won a Super Bowl. Will this captain switch lead to more USL titles for Yo Mama, only time will tell.
