TnT completed the perfect season on Tuesday with their 9-5 win over No Muntz in the Championship Game. The night started off with a hard fought victory over the Ball Bashers who put pressure on TnT early. TnT was able to come back quickly but the Ball Bashers hung around for a while before TnT put the game away behind Joe Chattertons 4 RBI game.
The championship was a very well played game between both teams. TnT was able to get out to a small lead at the end of the first inning and never trailed from there. No Muntz would never go away though, threatening a few times with runners on. Timely defense from everyone but especially second baseman Paula Spencer proved key in the victory.
TnT was able to do what the New England Patriots could not do and achieve the perfect season. Congratulations TnT and good luck defending your championship next season
Kyle Engel is our Player of the Week for his tremendous effort in TnT's victory this week. Kyle played great defense all night long and produced at the plate with a home run. He and Lizzy, on Tequila Mockingbirds this night, had a little competition going with one another. Kyle got the slight edge when he was able to beat her on a play at home. This little rivalry was all in good fun and was a lot of fun to watch. Congratulations Kyle on being the Player of the Week!
A new player for TnT, Steve "Buns" Foraker was a pest behind the plate. He times a running start to get to bunts so well that he came away with too many putouts to remember. At the plate, Steve went 4-5, showing off a strong leg as if he had never left the game after all those lost years he spent away. We hope that Steve's emergence out of the shadows will shed light on another mystery surrounding him; why the heck is his nickname "buns"? Steve could be a big help for TnT as they look for a championship in the upcoming playoffs. Congratulations Steve on being this weeks Player of the Week!
Lindsey Purdy deserves player of the week for displaying a diverse arsenal of kicking skills. Early in the game Lindsey reached base by bunting and using her speed. She was able to keep her opponents off balance later in the game by providing powerful kicks into the outfield. Lindsey's kicking skills helped her team get their first win of the season. Lindsey keep up the nice work the rest of the season.
