Entering the playoffs as the #4 seed, Slumpbusters had an uphill battle in front of them. Their first match up was against the top seeded team in the league, The Tribe. It was a back and forth battle but a key interception by Dan Skilman sealed the upset and a birth in the championship game.
There they would find another high ranked team, EBK, waiting for them. After trading early touchdowns, Slumpbusters found a way to enter halftime with a slim lead. After the half, they came out on fire on defense, forcing EBK into turnovers the first 2 drives of the half. Slumpbusters would capitalize by turning the turnovers into points and ultimately staking themselves with an insurmountable lead and another upset victory. Congrats to Slumpbusters on a great regular season but an even more impressive championship run!!
Over the course of 2 playoff games, Dan played some inspired football as he helped lead his team to 2 upset victories and a championship. He was a force on offense pulling in 3 touchdowns over the course of the night. However, Dan's biggest contribution of the night was a game changing interception in the semi-final match against the Tribe the sealed the upset. Great games Dan!
Player of the Week is given to players with exceptional performances. This week is no exception. Dan of the Slumpbusters almost single-handedly won the game for his squad. Pulling in 3 touchdowns was impressive on it's own, but Dan also caught the game changing interception that would put his team in the lead for good. Great game Dan!
