We wish they could all be close ones in BTB; nailbiters that come down to the very end. Unfortunately, sometimes the mighty get mightier, while the meek have only tears and beers to console themselves afterward.
Of course, things can get that way easy when the #2 playoff seed doesn't even bother to show up. In a bizarre turn of events, NoBowlsh*t was nowhere to be found Sunday evening, creating a first-round playoff three way match between Rollin Dirty, Incredibowls, and Nine Pound Ballz. Three teams entered; only two would advance.
Sadly, Incredibowls and Nine Pound Ballz would prove no match for the juggernaut that was Rollin Dirty. When the inevitable showdown between #1 and #2 never materialized, it was clear sailing for the Dirty crew. The first round saw the departure of the fun loving Nine Pound Ballz, who indeed seemed more content to bowl against themselves afterwards in their own championship of fun. Once Rollin Dirty and Incredibowls were alone in the championship- well- it was all academic from there. To be sure, the Incredibowls gave it their all, throwing in a few late turkeys for good measure. It was all too little too late, though, as solid games from heavy hitters Bryan and Franklin put the championship out of reach for the Incredibowls and in the bag for Rollin Dirty.
Congratulations to Rollin' Dirty- '07 Spring BTB champs!
The story of this BTB season has been the dynamic play of the dynamic duo of Bryan Streit and Franklin Williams. The consistently outstanding play of these two powerhouses made Rollin Dirty' pretty much unstoppable the whole season. On more than one occasion, both had capped scores in the same game. Sunday evening, they turned it on once more to seal up a chmapionship for their team. We'll see you next season to defend, guys.
Pay attention folks, there's new blood at Sunset and new blood in the water. Rollin Dirty are sneaking up to the top of the Sunday standings, and it's thanks mainly to performances like Bryan Streit's. Bryan and his teammate Franklin both had capped games this week (second week in a row for Franklin), but Bryan was the man of the hour with games of 181, and 243. look out y'all, here comes Rollin' Dirty.
