No strangers to championship glory, Accenture was not intimidated by being seeded so low in the Softcore bracket. They had been through the rigors of a championship run before and were up to the challenge. In the championship game it was not easy, as the Aluminum Falcons gave the Hot Shots all they could handle. Even after scoring six runs in the top of the seventh inning, to take a six run lead, the Hot Shots were barely able to hang on as the Falcons put together a rally of their own and brought the tieing run to the plate before falling 9-6.
In a major upset, Accenture Hot Shots pulled out an improbable 5-4 victory over the Greenlake Fat Asses. The defending softcore champions were unable to stop a tremendous comeback by the Hot Shots. In the top of the seventh, the Hot Shots put up three runs to take a 5-4 lead and then held on with some great defense in the bottom of the seventh. Leading the way was Erik Christopherson, who drove in the winning runs with a shot to left field.
